I have just joined the gym and the staff didn't say there was no Aircon when viewing. It is so warm I struggle to train properly. They have a large fan there which just blows hot air around. Alot of the equipment is warn and tired. The floor in the freezer weighs area is a major hazard. I'm surprised someone hasn't hurt themselves. I would join another gym but this is the closest one to me by far, so only staying due to convenience.
Gym is not only in poor condition and poorly staffed, but the tactics they use to keep you on are sneaky and bad faith too. They don't let you cancel your membership online, but make it seem like cancelling your Direct Debit is the way to do it, then keep charging you after that anyway. Just had to pay off £80 after having no idea I was still being charged. Lack of class and care for customers, go to The Gym Group or PureGym instead...
I would not recommend this gym. The air conditioning is always broken, not occasionally or temperamental, just constantly broken which makes the whole place hot, stuffy and uncomfortable to work out in. The equipment isn’t maintained at all with cardio machines often broken, rusty and some unstable and wobbly when using. SO many machines are always! out of order. The class timetable is also so limited compared to other gyms and doesn’t offer much variety or flexibility. The general upkeep of the gym is poor and the changing rooms and toilets are so dirty. The only reason I still go is because it’s the only gym in a convenient location for me but if I had another realistic option nearby, I’d leave.
Just renewed my membership for £65 after being assured the steam room had been running consistently again. Unfortunately, in the past two weeks I’ve only been able to use it once.nnI called to check if it was working before coming in, and the response I got was basically that they were “waiting for head office” and that the steam room would probably be out of use for quite some time delivered with a bit of an attitude, which was disappointing.nnThe reception and gym staff themselves are always lovely and professional, so this isn’t aimed at them. However, ongoing issues like broken showers and loose and broken tiles don’t help either.nnI’ll happily update my review once the facilities are fully operational and consistent again.
This gym is getting worse and worse each year. Have been there for 5 years, but this is the last one. When I signed up, there were 4 good trainers, teaching good classes. Now there is only one left and it's basically impossible to book her classes. The jacuzzis haven't worked in 3 years, the main studio for the classes doesn't have an air condition and now even the gym doesn't have an air condition. The showers and the swimming pool are always filthy. The people who have subscribed, because of the classes, organised a petition, asking for another class with the good instructor, but the current manager decided to give another class to his friend instead, who has no idea how to teach a strength class. It's riculous! I have never seen a manager, who doesn't even bother to reply to the many emails of complaint he receives. Such a shame.
