Very friendly reception staff. Great to have tea making facilities in rooms. Very very poor hygiene. Bed were clean but was worried that there would be bed bugs due to recent reviews. Breakfast is provided, which consists of toast, boiled eggs and cereal. Luggage storage available. Good for a one night stay, although Would not stay longer than one night. Beware, you can hear a lot of raucous noises at night. Would avoid if children are present.
Stayed here one night. Was clean and friendly staff. Shower was blocked and they fixed it immediately. The breakfast was simple but good. Wish they controlled the buffet style when it came to children shoving their hands into the communal scoop your own cereal bowls.
We got lucky and our room was actually really nice and clean I would give that room 4, even 5 stars but some of my friends' rooms were just disgusting and the smell of mold and god knows what else was almost unbearable. One of them even had a allergic reaction because of that room and I had a stomach flu after I visited one those rooms but it might have been just a coincidence. Really nice location, tasty breakfast. Good for a short visit, if possible try to get a room from the ground floor that's where our room was. The rooms in 3rd and 4th floors are quite horrifying to be honest.
Location is really good with good connectivity to bus and tube. Room rates are reasonable and free breakfast fast is Cherry on top even though not great but it was good. Toiletries and addition blankets are playable not free hence it's better to carry your own. One needs to carry own lock for private lockers. Locks are charged also. No free water. Can be bought from bar below.
The bathroom was disgusting, not cleaned and very small. You have a very thin not washed and smelling blanket and the room was in a terrible condition. One of the beds had cracks, so we can't sleep on it, without endangering the person sleeping underneath. Furthermore the breakfast is not eatable, you have toast with only honey, jelly and cheese and a small selection of cereals. Only the Wifi is ok, when you pay for it.
I have only spent 1 night here whilst on a school trip. The room I was allocated was on first glance tidy and ‘clean’. Fast forward 20 minutes later, and I was down at reception having caught a bed bug, after seeing at least 3 or so before this one. Admitadly, they moved me immediately, but they said they new of the issue. Obviously the hostel has not taken the necessary steps to ensure the problem has been dealt with. I spent the remainder of my stay sat on my bed checking for bugs throughout the night with the torch on my phone. Breakfast was mediocre. Not wanting to sound purposefully negative, however I saw families with small children staying there, and to think they may not be as fortunate as to spot the bugs. Also, now I’m paranoid that I could’ve brought them home with me. All in all... awful experience.
I have limited expertise with hostels. This one is functional and in a practical location, not far from the underground transportation. It feels very much like a old college dormitory. Lots of people come through here at all hours of the night so high probability of you being woken up, but that is the nature of a hostel. Had a few issues with the shower drain and water pressure. Overall I don’t think the quality matches the price, even with the convenience of location. If you find a good price and just need a place to crash, this is a fine and safe place. Breakfast is included, cereal, toast, boiled egg, coffe/tea.
Such a bad experience. Room on 5th floor but lift was out of service. I brought my luggage up thought a extremely narrow staircase which I wondered it is not regulated. No WiFi in room, no shampoo/ bath gel. No ventilation, fortunately we stayed there in winter time. The bathing hot water is not stable. One thing that I satisfied was the bed and toilet were generally clean. Did have a good sleep after all.
Location is good, building facade is nice. The rest of it was terrible. We stayed here in 2015 during the Rugby World Cup. We a couple booked a mixed bedroom but when we arrived there were 4 fully grown adults men from New Zeland super excited about the rugby match. They were drunk and intimidating. We complained and asked for a different room. They said they were all fully booked so weren't available for us to change. We said ok then we are leaving. They didn't offer a refund or even an appology. We felt humilliated and left to never go back. Never again.
All in all, there isn't anything to complain about; it being the first hostel I've ever stayed at, I think that Equity Point London was an all-in-all good choice. The staff at the desk were friendly when we checked in, we have keycards to get into our respective rooms, and we sleep in assigned beds. Free breakfast is available to all patrons from 7:30 to 10:00 am. The building was a little awkward to navigate at first, but it was simple after a moment of exploration. All very straightforward.
