I booked a Ford Focus in October and was given a Citroën C4 instead — which is not an equivalent vehicle in terms of driving experience or usability. At collection I made it clear this wasn’t what I had reserved, but instead of offering a genuine solution I was told I could either cancel my booking or pay extra to “upgrade” to a Mercedes C-Class or Mazda CX-5.nnIt felt like a classic upsell tactic rather than an attempt to honour the original reservation.nnThe C4 itself was not fit for purpose for UK driving. The speedometer displayed speed primarily in km/h, and mph was tiny and difficult to read. This created real difficulty when driving on unfamiliar roads and contributed to me unintentionally exceeding the limit by 7mph on the same day — something I’ve never had an issue with in any other hire car.nnWhether or not Enterprise accepts responsibility for the consequences, the fact remains: I booked a car with a clear, standard UK mph display and was given one that materially affected my ability to use it safely.nnThe whole experience left me feeling that staff were more focused on sales targets than customer care or delivering what was booked. I had initially chosen not to review, assuming it was just a bad day for the team, but the situation has had lasting consequences and needs to be noted.nnAdditionally, the vehicle was handed over in a noticeably poor condition. The interior still had items from the previous renter — juice cartons, dried mud, dust and old receipts — which made it clear the car hadn’t been properly cleaned. The exterior was similarly neglected, still wet and streaked, and the windscreen washers barely produced more than a weak trickle, making visibility difficult in bad weather.nnI won’t be using this Enterprise location again.

Absolute joke! The last 2 times I rented from this branch, they firstly gave me a faulty van, which meant I had to drive all the way to London with the door alarm going off. Not to mention that when I arrived at the Peckham branch they had to initially raise the dispute against me, because it wasn't on the report. The second time, I prepaid and got a phone call less than 24 hours before to say that the van wasn't available. Furthermore, they wouldn't cancel so I had to call the mainline, cancel and pay the £40 cancelation fee, which 2 months later, I still haven't received! Awful customer service. Would not recommend

Excellent service as always from the guys at Enterprise Broadstairs. Always greeted on arrival, car hire explained clearly and service with a smile. Highly recommended this place.

Excellent service, great reliable vehicle,

I returned the car one day early after a lengthy rental period and expected a refund for the time not used. When I modified my return date it showed a discount of £31 but was told a refund was not possible . Very disappointing!
