In early March our car needed repairs that the mechanic said could take at least 2 weeks so we hired a car from Enterprise in Worthing for 11 days. We went through the website and paid upfront. However, our car was repaired within a day and my husband returned the hire vehicle the following day. The website says that early returns are no problem and you're only charged for the days you use. When my husband took the car back though he was told he wouldn't get a refund despite the company's statement on its website. Later that day though he got an email with an invoice for the two days. It is now a month later and we are still waiting for the rest of our money to be returned! We've contacted Enterprise about it several times and they agree we should get a refund and it should have only taken a couple of days but nothing has gone back into our account. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this branch like the plague because it's looks like we've been ripped off and from a company the size of Enterprise that's appalling! Probably a visit to the police next to report this theft. *UPDATE* I saw the response from Enterprise. I tried that email address and it doesn't exist! Even their responses are useless!
Reasonable price before you add any extras which is good. The £20 overnight charge is an outright rip off. Every other hire company has a key drop box. The lie that someone might come in at 5pm and pick up an uninspected van is transparent. Watch out for damage that the staff "knew about" but don't have logged on their system. They also have an interesting understanding of fractions and fuel levels which probably was an honest misunderstanding but would have cost me £30 if I hadn't pointed it out.
Exceptionally good customer service...highly recommended: 10am on a Friday, and my teenage daughter's birthday trip to London that day with 5 friends was looking dicey due to last-minute train disruption - so I slightly frantically called every local car hire company in the area trying to finding a reasonably-priced 7+ seater vehicle, available within the next hour or two. I started with Enterprise who didn't have a suitable vehicle - their agent, Alex, said that availability was low due to half term...but kindly offered to call around their branches and get back to me. I tried their local competitors meanwhile who likewise had nothing available, and was beginning to think we'd have to give up. But Alex literally saved the day: he called me back within 20 minutes having found the one and only option in West Sussex - a 9-seater minibus! He then took the trouble of getting it very efficiently from Horsham to Worthing for us despite heavy traffic, and we were off to London by lunchtime. Hire cost was very competitive and the Renault Trafic itself was in great condition, clean throughout and drove really well. Unfortunately the same can't be said for me, as one of the van's rear lights had an unintended encounter with an out-of-sight bollard in a small London parking space. Regardless, Alex and his colleagues were charming and efficient from start to finish: on vehicle collection, he clearly explained Enterprise's standard excess policy without putting any pressure on me to add their additional protection. I'd previously avoided any car accidents, but took the extra cover as I hadn't driven a van/minibus before and it seemed a reasonably small cost for peace of mind. Given the accidental damage, I'm glad I did of course. When I returned the vehicle to Enterprise feeling pretty sheepish, they really couldn't have been nicer about it. The whole transaction was fairly, clearly and very kindly handled, and the additional cover delivered exactly as it was advertised. In fact, the outcome was better than I expected... As agreed, my deposit was retained until the tail light had been repaired and the actual cost confirmed which happened quickly. My brief web search had suggested the repair cost might be equal to/more than my deposit, but I actually received a refund of the balance from Enterprise once all was completed. I'd use Enterprise Worthing again anytime - a remarkably good team.

What an excellent service I received from start to finish! Alex and all his amazing colleague's were so kind and professional to me. I came in a bit early for the car allocated for me and they couldn't do enough to make sure I was comfortable whilst I waited for the car to be ready. In the time I was there I witnessed there first class customer service with lots of different customers. Some customers were very demanding yet the staff kept their cool and did all they could to assist them in a polite manner. They even dealt so amazingly with someone who walked in when they were closing! Exceptional service. Very impressed with the car, service and the in how I was kept up to date with details my insurance company had advised them. I really cannot recommend enough. They all deserve a big bonus . Arrived at their office 08.19 hrs today to find no booking / reservation on their system. No free taxi due to it being Monday. No free delivery, due to it being Monday. 09.00 hrs & no further forward. Thoroughly unimpressed by them currently!!!...

The car that was given to me was not filled up with Adblue, it had about 40 miles left. This makes me wonder if they actually do any checks on the car before handing it over. Most of my bookings are done via a third party via my company, they seem to have issues when it's booked like this, long story short, they should stop taking 3rd party bookings altogether or they should work with the third parties and resolve these issues. They are also inconsistent when letting you know what cars are available, when booking via a third party they say the wrong car type was selected, when you then phone up and ask if a particular car type is available they say it is, when my company then tries to book that car they say it's not available.
Was given a courtesy car through our insurance company. The car was ready once our insurance provider spoke to them. Due to circumstances, we were unable to take the car straight away, so had to wait an extra 2 days to pick up the car. On pick up we had to wait for the car to be cleaned, but we were given a 2021 Renault clio. A nice, modern car with great driving features. It got us from A to B whilst we sorted out buying a new car. Dropped the car back earlier than booked for; easy and convenient drop off.
Got the rental ok but seating isn’t sufficient given the waiting times. Parking is tight too and I feel bad for the staff - they were running flat out with customers still waiting, I hope this isn’t the norm for them!
