Lovely food on the taster menu. Very attentive and friendly staff. Just wished the weather was nicer!
AMAZING!!!! This was our 2nd visit this time we took friends and family. Food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. We will definitely be returning. Next time we are going to try the 6 course taster menu. Can't wait. Thank You for an amazing night and making my husbands birthday meal really special. Jo
Lucky me. 3 lunches and an 8 course taster meal in the last 4 months. Mouthwatering wonderful food and fantastic service. I note a comment about small portions. At the end of the meal we had all eaten more than enough, the portions are the right size. Do go, you won't be disappointed
My favourite restaurant in Birmingham. Me and my partner go there almost on a weekly basis. We love the food, it is fine dining, fusion of French and British. We can honestly recommend the tasting menu - you won't be disappointed. And don't forget the wine pairing - Gonçalo, the sommelier, is just brilliant! The whole staff is amazing, totally professional and friendly at the same time. They create a very cozy and warm atmosphere. The place is really elegant and quiet, perfect for a romantic dinner. In two words - Great restaurant!
Went to Edmund's to try the 8 course taster menu last night! Wow, if you like very good food proper fine dining without the expense that comes with it you've got to try Edmund's. Look out for the vouchers which are excellent value and have a night to remember! We'll definitely be returning with vouchers as soon as we can. You won't be disappointed........promise.
One of the best eating experiences my wife and I have had. First of all, this is fine dining, so “small portions” for a higher price is the norm. There’s plenty of standard restaurants around Brindley Place if you’re just there for the “fill up”, rather than the experience. Very nice ambience in the restaurant, very relaxed and calm. I enjoy Piccolinos round the corner, but it has an atmosphere that is quite noisy and busy, whereas here, it’s very intimate. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the street outside. Cocktails were nice, although the non-alcoholic cocktails are still quite expensive for what is essentially just juices...although this is pretty standard everywhere. Service was prompt and professional, with one waiter breaking from the norm and showing character, which was actually quite a nice change as he read the table, he knew it would go down well and my wife found it really funny. Starters were both excellently cooked both had pigeon breast, very enjoyable. All aspects of the dish worked together. We also order 6 of the snails as my wife had never tried them, order 6, ate 6, expertly cooked and seasoned, as good as I’ve had anywhere. Mains were even better, the smoked sausage looked like a very nicely presented cut up sausage but tasted wonderful, especially when mixed with all the components of the dish. My wife had the Black beef, rare, which was cooked to perfection and described by my wife as “the most perfect plate of food I’ve ever eaten”. It was absolutely delicious. We ordered sides as well, Peas a la Francaise, which were delicious and Pomme Frites, expertly done. Deserts were both Salted Toffee Soufflé, cooked to perfection and delicious. Wife didn’t eat all of hers, but that down to personal taste, it wasn’t her thing, but couldn’t deny it was well done and tasty. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening, fabulous food, lovely atmosphere, excellent service, good company. Would I go again? Yes, most definitely, but I’d want the menu to change as there wasn’t many things on the menu that I’d have chosen, but that is down to personal choice. Not a problem for a 2nd or 3rd visit, but after a while you’d run out of things to have! I’m not sure if the menu does change or not though as this was our first visit. Total bill was £137 including drinks, worth every penny. If you want bigger portions and don’t want to spend that much, it might be worth looking elsewhere or making sure you understand the experience of fine dining...otherwise just order sides...the main plate is the dish, but you can supplement it with sides as much as you want.
Visited Edmunds Restaurant last night after receiving a Wowcher Voucher as a joint birthday present. We were really looking forward to our visit after reading such good reviews. We arrived at 8.20pm and was shown to our table for an 8.30pm sitting. Within a few minutes we were given a drinks menu, which we ordered from as an Aparetif. Lovely ambience and staff were very welcoming , the menu arrived and the order was taken. At 9.45pm our starter came, very hungry by this time, people had already started complaining and leaving. At 10.20pm our main meal eventually came and for fillet of beef it was terrible! at 10.30pm we left after complaning to the Manager who was very apologetic and gave us a voucher to return another time. What can I say, we were very dissapointed, we don't live in Birmingham and travelled by bus and train to get here and for reasons not known to us, it all went very wrong last night, we may go back but not anytime soon .
Very very disappointed in Edmunds. So the only reason we went there was to try steaks, rib-eye, fries, Bernaise sauce, fillets etc etc on arriving we sat at our table ordered drinks as you do! So whilst we was waiting for our meal we had around 4-5 members of staff just constantly staring at us which was very odd as I am sure they understand it is rude to stare especially at a restaurant of there so called quality. So that was the first thing to unsettle us. The next really strange thing from Edmunds was that they didn't have the steaks, rib eye. fries, fillet & fries etc etc and nothing to accompany the meal, e.g. my wife had the Fillet borg, with NO potatoes veg, even the sides menu was not there, so she only had on the plate a round bit of steak, snails, and a vineger sauce with mushroom which was not very pleasant! That is it? The manager said we only have what you see on the menu, all very odd as we eat out a lot but never had this kind of strange atmosphere & menus which was not that on the website. Now for the style of restaurant the info on there website were worlds apart, how can you serve a dinner like this no sides nothing absolute joke! Or a least a choice if we wanted to. I had the monk fish which was tasteless and horrible if I am honest! We will not be going back there ever again as all is well until you go in to dine, a great shame, oh I forgot to add on our table was dead flowers which my wife pointed out there was just no excuse for these type of things!
Table of 13 My brother's Birthday! Beautiful food last night was amazing!!! 10/10 Would definitely come back he atmosphere was really good the price definitely goes with the food Loved every bit of it. Thank you great food great night
If you can get one of the vouchers for a 1/2 price meal, it's great value for money. The food is very good quality fine dining, the water service is good but not superb. There are only a small number of covers so booking is very recommended.
