Came here for lunch as part of a visit with my university, so I can't comment on the price. The food was delicious and came quickly; and although the portions look small, I was quite satisfied with my two course lunch. I had the tomato soup as my starter and chicken as my main. Both were great. The mashed potatoes that came with the main was one of the most creamy and delicious mashed potato I've ever tasted. Service was great too. Someone in our group mentioned he had a birthday, so the waiting staff brought out a special dessert plate so that we could sing Happy Birthday for him.
Really great atmosphere. Lovely friendly staff which made our night that little bit better. I recommend the £22 set menus as it's really good value.
Nice vibes and polite customer service. Went for the luxury afternoon tea, wouldn’t really say it was luxury. Some of the nibbles felt like they were made a long time ago and not fresh. The macrons were solid and not excitingly soft to eat. The teas had too much milk in them couldn’t really taste the flavour, needed to ask to be replaced with a standard English Breakfast at the end. Disappointed considering the price.
Nice place, fancy, coffee is not bad, single shot latte cost is £4.00
The decor and staff/service is really good here however, lunch menu is very limited. Cutlery felt cheap and wouldn’t even cut through the poached eggs on toast brunch which we had as a starter because there was no starters on the menu. Sirloin steak was pretty average. Would have to try the evening menu to decide whether I would go regularly.
Food isn't bad. Service a bit slow. They have enough of a selection if you want to avoid carbs though, so that's a bonus. The atmosphere is nice though, and you feel the food should be a little better. Oh, and the live band a man on guitar and a woman dueting with him were really good. Would go again.
Horrific service and food. Went for afternoon tea for my baby shower. They didnt bring the tea until everyone had finished their food. The quality of food was questionable. Intended fusion flavours were just plan horrid. Oh and the waiter questioned whether I should have half a glass of champagne 'in my condition'. Thanks for the concern but as a 38 year old woman I'm sure I can make my own choices. Avoid!!!
After reading a review on TripAdvisor about the vegan afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols, I thought it would be perfect to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday as she is a vegetarian who can’t eat eggs. I booked a table for 4pm for Saturday with Anthony who was very professional and mentioned they could surprise my Mum with a small birthday cake. I received a call 15 minutes later to explain that they were fully booked no Saturday so I rearranged for Sunday at 3pm. Be warned that the portion sizes are small. Per person, there were two sandwich finger pieces, one slice of wrap, and one small canape. The vegan scones, brownie piece and mini biscuits were powdery, as if you were eating flour despite adding so much jam and coconut butter to the scones and we all needed to have a drink in order to eat it. My family’s tea came cold the first time around and the coffee came in espresso cups. Although it states unlimited tea and coffee, at some point you get tired of waiting for someone to be available and asking for another cup! In the end I was really disappointed with this as I expected high quality at Harvey Nichols because of the brand image. At £22 per person, which can be equivalent to two course meal at other restaurants in the Mailbox, it was not fit for purpose. My Mum didn’t even get the happy birthday cake mentioned during my initial call! The manager explained how there is not a set vegan menu so they offer it upon request and explained how the food would be dry as there is no dairy or eggs in the product. I am no expert in vegan cooking but have baked many vegan items for family and friends and there are plenty of substitutes, from mixing flax seeds with water, egg replacement powders, aquafaba, oils, almond milk…and the list goes on! The manager offered a 20% discount which wasn’t much as it was applied to the price with service charge included. To save the day, went to Red Peppers to continue the celebrations, where my mum thoroughly enjoyed some appetizers. I regret celebrating my Mum’s 60th birthday at Harvey Nichols, as it was clear the food was bought in from elsewhere.I would definitely not recommend it to anyone else and encourage people to spend their money elsewhere!
Disappointingly average and over-priced food. Standard was no better than C'otes Brasserie but twice the price literally. Uncomfortably loud music. Very good service until desserts, then completely ignored.
Whilst not the best view of London, the finest of dining or the most obvious location. Situated on the 8th of the Oxo Tower, it is a nicy modern, spacious venue with a good view of the river. The food was excellent with a reasonable choice on the menu at lunchtime. Would certainly be happy to go again.
