A new South Indian restaurant has replaced this place. The service is terrible and the food is horrible. The food tastes as bad as it's out from a poor Balti house. The service was so slow some guys just left the place as they didn't get a menu after sitting for 20 mins. We sat at 19:30, got a menu after 10 minutes. Orders food by 19:45. Food served at 20.35. The quality and the taste of the food was terrible. There is no South Indian about the food they cooked. Yes they have dosa option but rest of the food has to be South Indian when they claim it to be. Ordered Chicken Biryani, mutton biryani and prawn biryani - rice stirred in respective currys. Tasted absolutely salty. Served 4 Prawns that too so hot even adults cried. . Chicken curry was okay but it wasn't South India. Naans were alright but weren't soft. Devil chicken for starter. Could be named Salted Devil chicken. I sympathize that it was a busy night but still, how did they think one person can manage all the hosts. Poorly managed. They could have pacified customers with drinks or popadams while they wait. Not even water was served until food was served. There was no customer that looked happy last night. Prices are okay. Overall a restaurant with nothing special about it. Not worth a visit again.
Poor, slow service. Felt like we were an inconvenience when we asked for extra plates. Staff were avoiding eye contact and constantly glaring towards the front door. Drink order was not taken for at least 10 minutes. Food took over an hour to arrive and was cold. The restaurant was not busy. Took 3 attempts to pay the bill. Also food was not value for money, poor quality with small portions.
Interior is ok, staff are ok. ordered a beer and was asked twice if i wanted popadoms with that.ordered 2, which tasted bit stale. charged extra for dips..not even a proper chutney dip .thats a first! ordered tikka masala for main. tasted like the worst iceland/tesco budget curry. no ingredients, just a sauce, like out of a jar...a budget one! Will never return..
Poor food, awful service. We complained about our food upon service, only to later be told if we didn't like our food we shouldn't have eaten it. Service was terrible. We waited an hour and thirty minutes for low quality food. We then waited 20 minutes to receive our bill. The staff couldn't be bothered. All other customers around us were also complaining.
If you want an Indian with good food but no atmosphere and very poor service, this is the place. The staff barely acknowledged us and I felt like they really would rather be else where. The shashlik Balti was good and tasty but overall due the staff I wouldn't recommend
I counted the cash, my account friend counted the cash, the waiter then accepted the cash, counted it at the bar only to return and claim it was £20 short. Just as the situation looked like it would turn physical, the other £20 note suddenly materialized as if by magic! Crooks, avoid.
NOT AUTHENTIC INDIAN its Bangladeshi. Formula dishes with mish-mash ingredients. Extremely expensive according to the amount of food they serve.
Food ok, we were the only people in the restaurant, staff not very attentive. Reasonably priced.
Terrible food poisoning 3 hours after, not good at all. Kitchen staff smoking outside then continuing to work straight after.
Over cooked chicken and the staff a bit miserable. I'm not local so wouldn't go again anyway.
