We google “Indian restaurant near me” and Little India was the best this side of town. What wonderful food! It’s a small place - but clean and tidy. We arrived about 7 and the wait staff was tripping over one another to assist us. I had Chicken Tikki Masala spicy, my wife had butter tikki chicken and my son had lamb Pand-ra all dishes were delicious and flavorful. The papadams and sauces, especially the lime and mango pickle were fantastic! My only minor comments: 1 that I could not read the bill - all charges were written down but in such a scribbled scrawl I couldn’t tell water from curry on the accounting. 2 the garlic naan was not very garlicky and a bit dry and blah… Still I will return when next in town!
It is a really nice Indian food restaurant. The food is insanely delicious. You have to order naan! Good environment and good service! I would say it’s a 10 out of 10 experience. Thanks Mumit!
Lunch: Butter Paneer Masala and Paratha. ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Butter Paneer Masala: 0/5 £13.5 Parantha: 3/5 £4 ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Ambience: 2/5 Hospitality: 0/5 ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Recommendation: ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Notes: The paneer was definitely not fresh and thus didn't taste good. Threw away. Reading from other reviews- good reviews are forced by the staff. Waiter forced me to pay the service charge without providing even a one star service. It is absolutely a shame that they call themselves 'little India'.
Cozy atmosphere but food is just average and pricy. Except the manager rest staff is not helpful. Location is perfect on gloucester road easy to commute.Food: 3/5
We ordered the set meal for 2, and were very pleased we did! Delicious meat for starter, so tasty. A butter chicken and lamb dish for main, with potato side dish, pilau rice and naan. Gulab jamun for dessert and mint tea. Staff were lovely, Mia particularly. All very clean and nice quiet cosy atmosphere. Early bird 25% off before 6pm meant a great deal. We found it passing by but would definitely come back!
Amazing Indian food! If you love spicy, this is your place! The one they said will be ‘medium’ spicy was super hot! I loved it! The service is exceptional! They are all really kind and attentive.
I enjoyed some of the food. Food: Asked for a cheese garlic naan though it was off menu. Told it was possible to get one, ended up with a cheese naan. The chicken dish we ordered didn't have authentic spices, wasn't amazed by it. The rice was not especially good either. Service: We were directed to one table when we entered. After ordering a beer as my friend and I wanted to catch up too, they pushed us to order all the food we wanted. We ordered a couple of dishes. The waiter pushed to order more. After I said we would like to in a few minutes, he got us to MOVE TABLES to make room for GHOSTS. He said the restaurant would get full. From start to finish, it was only half full. It was the one single waiter that I just did not like. The rest of them were fine, friendly. Atmosphere: Playing some old hindi songs to make it feel more 'Indian'. Customer toilets were clean. It was alright. Would not recommend.
The worst waste of £160 ever. We waited in a room upstairs for about 15 mins, the waited 20 mins for someone to take a drinks order then another 20 for the drinks to come. Starters came about 10 mins later then we'll over 1 hour for our main meal after asking for a third time. Three of the 4 meals were sent back to be re heat in a microwave then or food quality was horrendous. There were people waiting over an hour and a half for a table who then left, others waiting over an hour and 20 mins for their main meal. Please please do yourself afaour and never go near this place, they concentrated too much on preparing uber eats orders than the customers and the tables.
Great gem for Indian. Loved the curry dishes and lassi's.. you won't be disappointed. Staff Mr Kay is a delightful fellow and made our more enjoyable.. I'd this a five star but seating is tight and portions were on the small side.
Really nice experience. Thanks Mr. Mia for the service. Discount for students :
