Great little pub with a big attitude. Being our local pub at the top of our road we pop in fairly regularly. Since the new owners have taken over even more so as they provide fun activities such as the fortnightly pub quiz that we attend with family, meaning we see family members more than we ever have. The new food menu provides tasty food at really good value, and the new breakfast menu is on our to do list! There's lots of small touches that the owners gave done which really add to the appeal, dog/child friendly area with games, toys and blankets and of course the dog treats really add to the homely feel of the pub. I couldn't rate less than 5 stars and really look forward to what events they have in store for us next.
Excellent characterful pub serving a good selection of cask ales, also handy for the station.
We had a great stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.nThe breakfast was reasonably priced and very tasty. My daughter particularly liked her pancakes.nThank you for making our trip to the area a nice one.
My first visit here and it was just a quick stop to enjoy a pint before moving on - it was the middle of a weekday afternoon so it was very quiet. Was very impressed by the covered beer garden, a lot of places to sit and most with their own heater for chillier weather, I expect it has a good atmosphere on busy evenings.nThe sole member of staff I saw was very friendly & the beer was great - hope to return again to stay longer and try the food.
Great little boozer with a pleasant evolved atmosphere and a landlady totally switched on to the local clienteles needs. Highly recommended, opens from 15.00 hrs onwards !
