Absolutely fantastic place to stay and in a lovely location that must be seen. Set in a lovely old picturesque village it’s definitely worth a look.nHotel is clean and comfortable as is what you’d expect in its price range,nStaff in the Hotel are kind and very welcoming and the management team cater especially to visitors needs, especially the manager of the Hotel Simon, He’s very friendly and his door is always open to talk to and will help with anything you need
From the hotel side everything was almost perfect. The room was very clean. Keyless room entry. Plug sockets in the right places. TV functioning correctly. Heated pool available for those who wished to use it. The staff even managed to source me a fridge which normally didn't come with my room. The senior staff member who used to live in the Midlands was really helpful/ needs a promotion.nnMy only concern was the location which is in the middle of nowhere with very few good restaurants or nearby attractions, within walking distance . If you are ok with 20-50 mins drive to main attractions then this hotel would be perfect. Obviously the roads to and from are not straight roads and require a bit of skill to navigate plus traffic could make journeys longer.
Second stay and very pleasant.nTried the restaurant this time and the fish and chips were very tasty. From check in to waitress service in the bar, breakfast staff etc - so friendly, warm and pleasant.nMy room was lovely and clean and could not fault anything on my satay as usual.Consider this to be a real gem and the manager should be very proud of the team- real asset. :-
Fantastic hotel, allows you to bring your dog. Although we did not get the goodie box as stated for your dog no treats or poo bags, unsure what else is supposed to be in the box we only had two brown towels and one bowl and a dustpan and brush. We still enjoyed our stay.nOur neighbours were noisy banging their door and talking directly outside our door which woke my family. This wasn’t the hotels fault , the staff honestly couldn’t be more welcoming. The pool is a great added bonus although, my daughter cut her hand a few times with the rough edges of the pool. Lostwithiel is a lovely chilled out place to visit , we will be returning.
What an amazing stay!!nnTrina and the staff could not do enough for you. The breakfasts were amazing, the rooms very comfortable fresh water and milk and towels brought upon request and replenished promptly.nnThe outdoor heated pool was a real plus! So warm and refreshing. The snug area was lovely and really convenient to gather family and young children together to chill out.nWe ended up wanting to stay another night and Trina met the price of the previous nights.nnWe stumbled upon this hotel due to our caravan stay being an absolute disaster, they allowed us to check in to our rooms 10am that morning and included our breakfast for free with our rooms. If that's not service I don't know what is!nnOnly thing I will note is that the dinner at the hotel is rather average and overpriced as well as the drinks, so I would suggest going to the Royal Oak Inn down the street for a great variety and reasonable prices.nWe can't wait to come back in the summer!
