The reception desk are always friendly & lovely. Never been & they haven't asked how i am or w,e. Jacuzzi is amazing. I think £30 a month is good value!! Staff would always help if you needed to know how to use equipment too. Same can't be said for cheaper gyms. Ive only tried Teresa's classes but they are amazing!!
Great gym. Loads of stuff but not a huge gym which is great, you don't feel like you'll get lost in it I am only little though. With it being smaller you do feel like you're being looked at and judged which is a little off-putting. The pool could do with being a little warmer. It's alright, you can bare it and stay in but be nicer to be warmer. Staff are lovely, really cheery and helpful. The store above is great too. So much to choose from and with gym membership you get a discount.
Great gym and friendly staff. The staff and fellow gym users I’ve met are very friendly and greet me with a smile which is very nice and welcoming. The members of staff I have spoken to are very helpful and have answered any question I’ve had. The gym equipment is well used and a bit worn but it does its job well, the majority of the markings on the cable machines are a bit worn making it difficult to tell what you’re lifting. There is enough gym equipment to cope with the amount of people when I’m training but I haven’t seen it at its busiest. Could do with some more cable machines to cope with demands but there are alternative machines if it’s busy. There is never enough carabiners for the cable machine attachments as they seem to go missing, the majority of the grips are worn off of the attachments that they were fitted too. The steam room, jacuzzis and pool are good facilities. They get busy but you can get a feel for the best times to avoid a rush. The second jacuzzi is up and running now which helps with demand. An investment in new kit and pride in the gym would make this a brilliant facility.
I have only great things to say about my experience at this gym. I now live in the USA and had to come back to Gloucester in August for 5 weeks to take care of my Mum. Jordan was happy to answer all my questions and arrange a temporary membership for me over the phone. The payments were debited on schedule, my initial sign-up fee was refunded promptly after I had visited the required number of times, and I had no problems at all concerning the membership deal. Everyone I interacted with at the gym was friendly, helpful, and polite, whether staff, trainers, or customers. In classes, more experienced attenders kindly assisted newcomers to gather the appropriate equipment or understand the exercise. Instructors were welcoming, knowledgeable, and encouraging. There is a wide variety of classes to choose from. I took many different ones and enjoyed them all. It is very easy to book and cancel classes on the app or online, and there are accurate detailed descriptions for most classes. I loved the Les Mills classes that are held at this gym, and I found the instructors excellent at verbalizing and demonstrating the correct form. Thank you Steph D, Lulu yoga, Kelly Anne, Alex B, and Teresa! I had a personal training session with John R, and Keira is now working with my 81-year old mum. I highly recommend them both. The main gym area is well stocked with free weights and machines and all the equipment seemed in good working order. The female changing room and showers were clean and well supplied with spacious lockers, hair dryers, mirrors, toilet paper, and loads of high pressure hot water! The pool is not huge, but is clean and sufficient to get some laps in. I didn't notice the water temperature, so it must have been perfect! There are Aqua Fit classes, but I didn't take one. Best of all, there was functioning air-conditioning that could be controlled by the instructors during classes! Parking is easy! Loads of spaces right outside the door, and if you need more time for your workout than is allowed, you simply sign a sheet at reception with your registration number and you can stay all day if you like. If you are looking for a welcoming gym that caters well to many different needs, I honestly cannot recommend DW highly enough.
This Gym really should be averaging 4 or 5 stars. Great friendly staff, loads of kit and good selection of free weights. BUT let down by very poor facilities management. The aircon has been broken for months, so people are sweating all over the place in the heatwave, turning a good gym into a sweaty poop hole! DW Fitness First, you need to raise the bar and stop giving your loyal members lame excuses. "Can't get the parts" …"It's an expensive repair".
Very disappointing: Today I went there to do my favourite fitness class, body combat. However, at the reception I was told "sorry, members only" and politely turned away. I had been planning to visit that gym for some time and therefore I checked their website multiple times. I have not seen an announcement it was for the club members only. If the club don't want to be egalitarian and inclusive, open for all then that's fine, but they should have warned people on their website which they didn't. I have been to several local gyms and I never had an experience like this. I lost over an hour of my time for driving back and forth and of course I couldn't do something else in that time if I knew. It looks like I would have to buy a pig in a poke membership to attend that class. So be warned if you are not a member. Oh, and by the way, they had 11 spaces left, so... that's a strange way of doing business.
Ridiculous weekend closing time of 4pm! Alot of people like to go after work. Severe loss of members to other gyms for this reason. Lets hope new owners see sebse on weekend opening times change. No member is on same price, its who you know! Price ranges from 29 to 38 for anytime membership!
Facility is good but beware . I was told when joining I get 100 pounds voucher to spend in there store but they don't tell you it's VOUCHERS that you need to spend 50 quid to get 20 and has to be 5 different brands . Also was told 2 free sessions with trainer ,well guess that never happen as well ! So besides that it's a good place .
Great gym. Happy friendly staff Can get a free trial first to check it out.! No pressure to sign up either Weights section is very gd. Old resistance kit but heard it's getting a refurb in next few years or so. Changing rooms kept in good order. Really nice jacuzzis and steam room. Club manager very approachable and would do anything for the members happiness. Gd cost aswell medium priced gym for a gd atmosphere. Would say it's the best gym in gloucester once it gets its refurb.
Great gym. Always been able to get on everything I want without having to wait. Classes are good and staff are all friendly. Only downside is there always seems to be something that needs fixing.
