Fantastic food and lovely friendly staff. Burgers are out of this world. Make sure you definitely go to the Duke of York when you go to York it is a priority. Also lovely beers and ales for the drinkers.
We visited for for lunch during the week. Great vegan choices! The food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were very generous. Good value deal.

Lovely pub in the heart of the Shambles. Couldn't resist the pork pie and spread it came with. Thought it would be too much but so good I managed to finish it all. If you need a hearty meal this is the place to go while you're in one of the best preserved medieval streets in the world.

Absolute beautiful food. Both of us had Ribeye steak and certainly wasn't disappointed. Staff were lovely too!
