"Firstly.....We ain't in Dublin! We are a short stroll up the road, named Parkway, from Camden Town Underground station. We are a traditional, no thrills pub. However, we're also a Grassroots music venue. There's opportunity for novice bands , new musicians and performers to sometimes appear for the very first time infront of an audience. Often, these bands return to grace our tiny stage. We've been blessed in the past to have had many a fine musician perform here. You may have heard of a few of them. Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Blur, MADNESS, Supergrass, The Libertines, Snow Patrol, The Killers...Etc..Etc. We have LIVE Music almost every night. The front bar has a 'noted' jukebox and our crowd tend to be music lovers and fashion aficionados."

Better known as a live music venue, rather than a pub, but I visited on a midweek lunchtime when it was quiet. Three real ales on tap and a great range of craft beers, etc. Good music playing and friendly bar staff. Definitely worth visiting this legendary place.
If you going in Camden, Dublin Castle has to be first on your tour. Why? Because here was wrote pages of history of music. Universal known. Among most famous Amy Winehouse and Madness. Inside, you smell authenticity and it's kept alive by many good bands who play every week and full with normal people. They have a pint of beer, good food, exactly like me. We're feeling home. We're feeling good. Mary give me half of pint and from backdoor a nice old lady came with an air when Madness were in their twenties. True London. I'm coming back for my concert. I deserve good music and good time. I was in front line in Covid lockdown and I've passed Dublin Castle 600 days, at least twice in a day. Thinking about normality. Cheers everyone and see you later!
Camden Town £6.90 Moretti A famous Camden pub and legendary music venue. . The Dublin Castle is located on Parkway in Camden Town and just a few minutes walk from Camden High Street and Camden Town tube. . The building of the railways around Camden in the 19th century attracted workers from all corners of the UK. After a night on the sauce around Camden there used to be many a tear-up between the Irish, English, Welsh and Scots navvies. In order to keep them apart, four pubs were built to serve the respective nationalities, all had “Castle” in the name. The Dublin Castle was built to serve the Irish. . In 1974 the pub was bought by an Irishman who decided to showcase up and coming bands and artists, one of the first was Madness and the rest they say his history. Other artists to grace the stage here are Amy Winehouse, Blur, Arctic Monkeys and many more that went on to make it big in the music industry including The Specials, RIP Terry Hall, sad news today. . The decor here is no frills traditional with soho red lighting which makes for an atmospheric setting. The walls are clad in mirrors and lots of posters and artworks of artists and bands that have played this pub. At the back of the bar is the music room and stage. . The beer line up was straight up and full of familiar favourites, this makes ordering a pint easy when it’s busy. I had a Moretti, it was a good pint but expensive. . I arrived just after 4pm on a Saturday and the atmosphere was buzzing. The pub was busy with lots of oldschool Shinheads smartly dressed in their check shirts, Fred Perry’s and the odd crombie. I got chatting to a friendly Geordie fella who used to be a Skin, he works and lives in West London a couple of weeks a month. I asked him why he drinks here and he said that people talk to each other in this pub whether they know each other or not. . The @dublincastlecamden is a great place to come for a drink whether you’re here for the music or not. With the exception of the Khazi’s I couldn’t fault this place. Definitely worth a visit, you never know you might see the next big thing. . ℹ Info correct on visiting 10/12/22
It small and can get crowded. Always very stuffy inside but it has good music. The venue in the back is free entry after the love band is done playing. It's a good dance floor, but the dj can be hit or miss depending on the night.
Nice pub, the first pint I had was not nice but went onto the Beaverton which was a good pint. Great music on the juke box as well. Nice music decor as well
Great London pub with a real history of music. Live venue at rear has hosted some big names.
The Dublin Castle, 8.5/10 Camden boozer. Big red building. Can’t miss it. Unless you’re blind. In which case, follow the sound of hard rock music. You’ll be there in no time. Not quite sure how you’re reading this though. Very unique gaff. Tons of historical bits splattered all over the walls. Unique set of customers in there too. Blue hair people. Suited n booted people. Skaters. Old folks. Younguns. And not one of them seemed out of place. Alright, we know what you’re thinking. It calls itself the Dublin Castle. It serves Guinness. Any good? Oh yes. Yes it is. Pretty much as good as you’re gonna get in North London. Just look at the head on that. Sublime. See those two ominous doors at the back? All we could hear was thumping heavy metal coming from there. And no one went in or out, but we heard tons of people in there. Not to shy away from a challenge, NLP necked a pint and went in. There are some things that are too much, even for us. The back room of the Dublin Castle was one of them. We don’t know what to say about it. We have seen through the eye of the needle. We’ve finally bloody seen it. We’ve pulled open the hurt locker and had a big ol rummage round. We had to sit back down and sink a few pints of the black stuff to calm us. We were back to normal in no time. After a while we were wondering why it was called the Dublin Castle. Aside from the Guinness being top drawer, it didn’t give off the most Irish vibe. Until we spotted a Leprechaun on our way out. The Leprechaun had a knife and came at me with it. Safe to say, I easily bonked him on the head with the heel of my shoe and he was out like a light. A true Irish experience. Thank you, Dublin Castle. The police would later tell me that he wasn’t a Leprechaun. He was in fact a 5-foot 9 man from Clapham. Easy mistake to make. Obviously a 200 year old listed building is going to have accessibility issues but after messaging them beforehand the staff were good enough to reserve me seated space in the live music area after I explained I have rheumatoid arthritis and can't stand for long periods. When I arrived the door staff were aware who I was and pointed out where I'd been reserved a seat...this made a heck of a lot of a difference for me and I was able to enjoy the gig I'd came down for with much less stress. In addition just a great small independent venue.
You know what you're getting whenever you come to this Camden institution; a happy crowd out for fun. Patient staff who get a drink in your hand quickly, spit and sawdust atmosphere, in the best way, late night opening and some terrific live music. It's dark out the back, bright out front, always conversations to be had, always fun to be found. Long may the Dublin stay exactly as it is.
Racist owner and door staff. Told us to go away putting it politely for no reason at all, we weren’t there in tracksuits, all dressed well, we don’t do drugs, weren’t even drunk really as we’d come from dinner, we were the only non white people there. Not to mention it’s seedy, looks unclean, trashy music, only went there because of the misleading reviews on here. There’s another bar around the corner that closes at the same time, closer to the station too, much friendlier staff, way better atmosphere, friendly people, and actually looks like they sweep the floor. I’d avoid this place and go somewhere else.
