One of the most legendary and historic venues in London, Cecil Sharp House has served as a location for films, television programmes and fashion shoots. A hidden gem in Camden, being a fan of classical and folk music I came across this place by chance. Initially came to watch Catrin Finch perform, but found a range of talented artists along with her. And the workshops which they conduct seems to be inclusive and engaging as well. The overall environment was very positive and it acts as a haven for musicians from all backgrounds.
Came to trade at a market. The place was nice and well looked after but the highlight of the day was the food from the little cafe downstairs. The emponadas were to die for.
Lovely venue primarily based around folk dancing and education, with a library. Attended as I was part of a panel talk on film. The hall that’s available for hire is a room primarily set for dance. With large step seats all around. Staff all seemed very helpful, with a nice cafe in the basement area.
Marvellous venue loved it. Josienne Clarke played a sublime set
An iconic place that is losing its soul to non traditional forms of dance and over charging for its use particularly catering.
Traveling with hubs from the states and he saw the salsa dancing event on Facebook. Loved that they had plenty of seating and bar/cafe downstairs open during the evening. Music was good and people were delightful. Easy to get to and find as well.
Great venue but can get very warm inain hall.
Gorgeous venue for events and parties! The main hall is perfect for dancing and classes, great floor and space in general. Also good acoustics and sound. Some smaller rooms in the basement a nice cafe with some food options
Wonderful venue. I’d go again
Nice high ceilinged venue. But it does have bad ventilation and is extremely stuffy. It was only 18c outside but it was like S.E. Asia pre monsoon inside. Fergus McCreadie Great gig though.
