Once great now terrible. As I understand the current situation they are now part of the Modality Partnership which is a money spinner set up by already high earning GP's. Good luck getting an appointment, no chance directly unless it's for your Covid vaccine. They will tell you they have no appointments available but if it's an emergency that you should call 111. So you call 111 and get rudely spoken to. Eventually, and as long as you refuse to be fobbed off the 111 call handler will agree to get a local surgery to call you. St John's will be on this list even though they told you earlier there were no appointments. If your can convince the caller from St John's that your condition is serious enough you will be invited in for a face to face appointment. Here is the absolute disgrace of this whole money making charade... you will be offered half a dozen or so vacant appointments for the same day. How is this possible? You have already been told there are no appointments... It is obvious that GP surgeries such as St John's get paid more for referrals via 111 and that they keep appointments back from their own patients on a daily basis so they can hit their agreed targets with NHS 111. The NHS is dead in the water and already takes in average £10000 per household in the UK. It is unofficially a part private service. Ask anyone who has private healthcare through work. They will tell you that you mostly just queue jump the NHS. The time has come to privatise the lot and let us choose our own level of service via private insurance policies that we could easily afford if we weren't paying so much via so many various taxes... Modality Partnership founders may well have started with great intentions but I suspect money has undoubtedly taken over as it is a licence to print. I suspect they are rolling in it... They certainly care little about their patients. For the record, it is not the actual GP's nor the receptionists that I am criticising here, they are as frustrated as I am. It is the top level management of Modality Partnership who have ruined a once great surgery.
Absolute joke! Call at 8am to get an appointment to be put in a queue and then told all appointments are gone for the day. I ask to book next available, only to be told you can’t prebook and appointment, is this some kind of sick joke. Since when can you not book an appointment to see your GP
Shame I have to give this place 1 star. The place has become a joke receptionists with attitude, didn't know that COVID affected hearing because not one of them listen to you. I have been at this practice from the start and these days they seem happy with being completely useless.
The receptionists need to loose their appalling attitude. 30mins to get through because I need a prescription review to be told to call back next week. Stroppy receptionist thinks patients have nothing better to do than spend time calling back because “she’s just doing her job”
Ring up and yes 19 in the queue before you, joke, have not heard of a doctor seeing people here for 2 years and if you get in it's a medical practitioner or a paramedic this place is not NHS friendly if you want to spunk money for private care you will be cured tomorrow, be aware they are not here to help just to get by.
Calling at 8am every morning can’t get an appointment to see a doctor it’s beyond a joke. I’ve been a patient here for over 10 years i used to praise this surgery. Sadly I have had nothing but dissatisfaction since COVID which is now over so why is it so hard to get an appointment?
I cannot comment on the quality of the medical care provided; as it is impossible to even get in to see my GP. Online consultation, then a phonecall consultation, then waiting to hear back from them for days. It boggles the mind why, in 2022, I can't just book an appointment... have my symptoms looked... and for the doctor to come to a diagnosis and recommend treatment. They would get through 3 times as many patients if they removed this nonsense... Our NHS is on it's knees, bloated and wasteful....
Always had good experiences with the doctors, nurses and receptionists. What would we do without them. Had a telephone consultation this morning with my doctor and he was amazing as always. I've never had a problem getting through on the telephone and always found the receptionist very helpful. Its still uncertain times for everyone and we should all thank god for these amazing people who look after us .
Terrible doctors. Almost impossible to get through unless you have got over an hour to wait to get an appointment. Yesterday I waited 45 minutes and was then cut off. When you get through to the doctors they are very dismissive and it is almost impossible to get them to see you in person. I will be moving surgeries ASAP
We need to be able to book an appointment without the 'ring at 8am no appointments until tomorrow ' It seems tomorrow never comes. Thirty five minutes trying. By the time thw queue came to me no appointments. This can go on for days. We need help please! The Doctors are not the problem. Its the appointment SYSTEM.
