Lovely hotel. Quite central to everything. Lovely helpful staff. Very nice breakfast and other meals were lovely too. My favorite meal was the sea bass. Nice bar and restaurant. My bed was very comfy. The only thing I noticed is that there was no main light in the bedroom part just wall lights which were very bright so the room felt quite dark. Good aircon in my room. The light in the bathroom was bright enough though. I stayed there over Christmas and the atmosphere was very good. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The only real upside for this hotel is it's location which is within easy walk of Kingston shopping, train station, walks along the river and into the various large parks nearby.nnOther than that the place feels very much like it's run by an accountant rather than anyone with any sense of hospitality.nnOn checking in we were asked if we wanted our room cleaned each day. We said yes, it wasn't.nnWhen getting to the room we found 1x large towel and 1x small towel in our room for 2 adults and a child. I asked at reception for more towels to be delivered to the room, they gave me 1 more large towel and 1 more small towel that I had to take back to the room myself. We didn't receive any more towels during our stay.nnOn 2 out of the 3 nights we were staying there was a very loud and very depressing looking corporate Christmas party in the bar and restaurant. We could hear this clearly from the 3rd floor. There was a sign in the lift that we could get earplugs from reception which shows they knew how bad it would be.nnThe view from our room was improved by the scaffolding and building materials. If not for those we would be treated to a view of a dirty wall the builders are there on weekdays and make a lot of noise all day as well as block the accessible entrance but we were at least informed of this mess in advance.nnThe room was dirty with paint pealing from the wall, grubby carpets, scum all around the sink and broken furniture. Dirty plates were left on the corridor floor outside rooms for 24+ hours. There was someone smoking on our floor and the corridor smelt of cigarettes.nnThe room mini fridge was never stocked and we were never left with any water in the room, having to frequently purchase the £5+ bottles from the bar or walk into Kingston to buy some there. On the plus side the mini fridge was able to get incredibly cold.nnThe food was bland, cold and tasteless. We ordered room service with 2 main meals and only received 1 knife and 1 fork. The breakfast was bulk cooked and tasted like it. Frequently items in the breakfast buffet ran out and weren't replaced.nnMany people we spoke with didn't seem to know there was a hotel here. We wish we didn't either. We'll stay somewhere nicer and probably cheaper next time we're in the area.
The slow enshittification of premium brands.nNo fridge, no water, no soap, no room clean, cheap shower, a digital key that didn’t work. Woken up with drilling and work next door.nnFriendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant.nnPoor show for over £200 a night. I’d expect this of a budget hotel.
Yesterday we had a party dinner in the hotel, the place was amazing, the atmosphere is very good and elegant. But the service it was poor. The waiters was chatting at the bar, kitchen area and was no water on the table. I supposed to ask them few times to go and change. The tables was with full of empty glasses, no-one collected until the dessert finished. Then only one waiter was using a tray to collect, the rest of the waiters was collecting by hand, putting fingers inside in the glass. A was thinking maybe we comed and organised this party in a cheap pub not in a 4 star hotel. The food quality was also very poor and cheap. Wasn't any taste, the vegetables it was hard and undercooked. In the hole experience was poor and cheap.
As you’d expect from a Hilton, this is a great venue with plenty of comfort and style. The location is excellent – just a five-minute walk from Kingston station and surrounded by shops, making it very convenient. At the moment, the hotel is undergoing renovation works, which can make it look a little unclear from the outside, but once inside it’s modern, clean, and welcoming.nnThe central location is a big plus, though I did notice that the path leading to the hotel isn’t well lit at night, which could feel a little intimidating for some guests.nnThe staff were fantastic – friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The food was equally impressive. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and later I had the gyros, which was absolutely delicious. The service came with a smile, creating a genuinely warm and positive atmosphere.nnThe décor throughout the hotel is modern, with plenty of comfortable seating areas, making it a nice place to relax as well as stay.nnOverall, a stylish and convenient hotel with excellent staff and great food. Once the renovation work is complete, it will no doubt feel even more polished – but even now, it’s a very solid choice for a stay in Kingston.
