Well worth a visit if you are in the area, free parking, great views over the North Sea with the supply ships bobbing around in the distance as they wait for permission to enter the harbour . A great place to see seals and various breeds of birds, the sands run for miles offering loads of opportunity for long walks with your dogs or to just enjoy the views . I have personally photographed otters , dolphins, seals and many birds, WW2 pill box’s and anti tank stones are evident depending when you visit as the tide determines the areas you will have access too. Wheelchair access is non existent , though I’m told a boardwalk previously installed is now under the sands due to past heavy storms etc. I have seen many people picnic or BBQ on the sands during the summer. Donmouth is a 15 minute walk away from Aberdeen Beach Boulevard, with shops and places to eat and drink within 10 minutes walk. A golf course sits behind Donmouth with cliffs running along the sands giving even better views over the North Sea .

Lovely area that we would not have gone to unless we had decided to walk along Aberdeen beachfront. Even on a cold February afternoon it was lovely to see the birds and walk along the River Don. It's not advertised very well as we did not know about it until we were almost upon it, this little gem needs to be given some advertising.

A good place for a walk and to see local wildlife. Recently we took part in a beach and dune litter pick. All the litter and plastic ad found was bagged and made available for recycling or disposal. A huge turn out of about 100 people made a massive difference to the area. The area can be enjoyed all year round as the nature and environment changes with the seasons. When visiting take your litter home , keep fires small and Leave No Trace you were ever there!

Beautiful place, lots of history including ruined WWII defences along the coast. Make sure you time it right with the tide, you could get wet! Great place for dog lovers / walkers
