"Panoramic views from the top of worldDitchling Beacon is located 7 miles to the north of Brighton and just south of the village of Ditchling. At 248 metres above sea-level, Ditchling Beacon is the highest point in East Sussex and offers commanding 360 degree views from its summit. Look south out to sea, north across the Weald or east-west across the Downs.As the name suggests, Ditchling Beacon was once the site for a warning beacon. Visible for miles around, the Beacon would be maintained ready to light in times of imminent invasion.The site is also of archaeological interest, with remains of an Iron Age hillfort.Neighbouring Ditchling Down lies to the west of Ditchling Beacon, and is a prime example of chalk downland."

The correct postcode that will take you the nearest is: BN1 9QD. Small carpark on a slope and with small bays, not good for campers or large vans. Very busy and noisy, as it's located next to a very busy main road. The walks in the area are great. Pay and display, National Trust members park free.
Great car park for access to the South Downs, however recommend getting there early as there are not many spaces. Watch out for the excellent Sussex Coffee Truck at weekends that serves everything from iced coffee to cherry cake.
Yet another app to download. Payed for an hour then the app said it had not gone through. Paid again was charged twice! Bleedin swindle.
NT car park so free to us. What's not to like. Plenty of parking. Great end of day/start of day location whilst walking the South downs way. But what a long boring climb up to it from the Winchester side.

Impressive views of Sussex. The car park is fine, at £3 per day or free for national trust members. There's no facilities here.

Great little spot off the A27 with excellent views, National Trust car park £2 per day, get RingGo app free if you are a member. Also a great place for dog walkers.
So peaceful. One of my favourite places that bring back a lot of childhood memories. Ice cream van isn't too expensive either.
