First visit today for Sunday lunch. On entering the hotel via the back with no sign at the front to tell you how to enter we were not greeted by anyone at the door. I called out a few times before anyone came. Finally we were shown the dining room and told that we could sit where we want as it was fairly empty. I a young lady too our drinks order and food order. The soup vegetable was hot and tasty but resembled dish water with vegetable floating in it. Bread tasted stale. Roast was nice but not man vegetable. Very expensive and no menu for children so wont be bringing the children. Not sure what sort of clientele they are after but in order to have a full dining room you need to rethink the menu and the prices. Would i eat here again maybe. Staff were nice but not very experienced and not very attentive. When we finished eating and were ready to pay the bill no one was around we could have walked straight out. The guy on reception was not very polite when we asked about paying he just told us 'pay at the bar' - such a shame.

First room we went in had no heating. Light in corridor was broken too. Reported it and went out. Rang up at 8.00 and was informed it had been fixed. Went to the room about 10.00. Heating was still broken. I went and found the maintenance man who said he was going to reset the boiler. We heard nothing for ages so i then had to go looking again. I found him struggling behind the bar unable to leave it. Eventually got hold of the manager at 11.30 who moved us to another room. This room had almost working heating but was still cold as the radiators were both full of air. In addition one of the bedside lamps had a bulb missing and there was nowhere to plug it in to in any case. This meant the room was too dark. TV had no ariel connection so no telly either. Sad really because the room was pleasant and the bed was lovely.

Went tonight for a couple of beers after work same on the outside very old and nice but modern on the inside ? Didn't check rooms or menu out leave that up to you.
