Definitely the best chip shop chips (and gravy) that I have ever had. I will definitely be going back to try the fish, that looked fantastic too (and a great selection too including cod, haddock, plaice & salt n pepper squid + others).

I must acknowledge that the food from Deep Blue in my experience, is relatively good. However- on my recent order, my food failed to arrive not 5 minutes late, not even 15 minutes late but 45 minutes late. Not once did Deep Blue contact me to explain that there would be a delay with my food. I called them 66 times in a 30 minute period to no avail as not even once could I get through to anyone because the line was constantly occupied. When my food finally arrived, I was only granted an apology when the woman finally looked at my face and saw how annoyed I was... needless to say I do not believe it to be a very sincere apology- there was no reasoning that she gave me for why my order was so late. So while the food is good- it is not good enough to warrant a 45 minute wait with no contact.

It's a shame they are the only fish and chip shop near to us. They used to be good, with decent sized portions and quick service. Today I stood in the shop for at least 30 mins whilst they sorted out orders. For a Friday night at 6pm I would expect them to have enough prepared for the dinner rush. Then onto the food. I ordered a standard Cod and standard chips. These are more like a small childs portion. It's a joke to be served something so small. We won't be buying from here again. We will now be driving the extra distance to go back to our old favourite "The Chippy".

Was down in Portsmouth on a Sunday dropping daughter back at Uni and fancied fish and chips here we headed back. Used to live in Eastney and saw this place on Google. Being one of the few open we thought we'd give it a go. What an absolute cracker of a find! Very clean, staff were so friendly. A family run business in a modern stylish shop. The portions were of a good size wth various sizes available. Food was not greasy at all and everything was freshly prepared. The fish (cod) was fresh and cooked to order. The orders are served in cardboard, not plastic boxes which didn't go soggy with the heat or salt and vinegar. By far the best fsh and chips I've had in a long while. I'll will definitely be using these guys again whenever I'm down in Portsmouth or on Southsea beach. Could not fault them at all!

The overall experience of Deep Blue was very poor, we will not be ordering from here again. The food arrived half an hour later than we were told, even after calling the restaurant twice and being told that they “think” the food is with the driver. Once the food had eventually arrived, after waiting for an hour and a half, we found that the chips and fish cakes were cold, the batter on the cod was soggy and flavourless and the mushy peas were, well pea soup. The curry sauce was okay though. Not worth the time or money!!
