Absolutely awful. Delivered the food and didn't give us our 2 portions of rice. When we called up about it we had to wait an hour for them to only give us one portion of rice instead of the 2 we paid for! This was to split between 4 people! Never going here again
Ordered a few home deliveries from here in the past. Today I was walking by so I decided to collect. Very friendly service, food was ready quickly considering it was a Saturday evening and I did not order ahead. Great portion sizes and quality as always, but discount for collection which made it probably one of the best Indian takeaways in Portsmouth for value, portion size and quality - highly recommend!
I've tried many different Indian takeaways in Portsmouth over the years, but once I ordered from this place, I kept going back. The Balti house special is beautiful. Tried a few different dishes and they've all been great. Curry Leaf also seems to be the only place in the area that consistently produce a quality keema naan. The Mrs is always more than happy with hers too. Delivery drivers are also very nice. Consistently good food. Probably the best Indian food in Portsmouth imo.
I tried 3 dishes, all cooked like Indian home kitchen. Owner is humble, welcoming & friendly. Pricing is super genuine. Such a great experience with a great taste.
Unfortunately taken over by new owners. Sizes of the portions are CONSIDERABLY smaller despite the raised price. Flavour just isn’t there anymore. Sad to see. Forgot my mango chutney to :
Caveat: I am an American traveler who wanted to have English takeaway curry to complete the UK experience so I have no basis to make comparative analysis. That said I have had authentic curries in New York and Philadelphia where Indian and Pakistani expats usually get their usual grubs. Everything at the Curry Leaf was too sweet. From yogurt sauce to korma curry was so sweet that I thought I was eating a dessert dish. It was so sweet my teeth hurts just thinking about it. The underlying spices are there to be noticed only sugary sludge was not paralyzing rest of my taste buds. That said the counter person was friendly, food prompt, and price reasonable.
We live down the street and always get curry here. Amazing food, always piping hot and well cooked, packed. They even agreed to deliver to us after working hours! One of the best customer services we have had and will carry on ordering from them for a long time! Big thanks to your team from Chris and Erika.
The food is very tasty and has very good prices. I prefer beef kebab or chichen in wrap.Food: 5/5
The price alone gets 5* I have searched high and low for a curry that is simply a curry and rice in a tin for a small price. This place gives that and more for a small price. It's amazing that you can get 2 curries , 2 rice, 2 poppadoms, 2 naan breads, 4 onion bhajis , 2 salads , a mixed kebab starter and a chicken chaat for less than £20 And it tastes very good. Highly recommended for students or those looking for value for money.
