Branch of the Debenhams department store chain in Bedford. Reasonable range of goods and well presented. I tend to check the menswear if I'm looking for something while in Bedford as it's not a bad department. Worth looking if you'd rather not sortie to Milton Keynes or Rushden Lakes as the standard of goods generally here is very good. Bit of a warren of a place inside!

This particular branch of Debenhams is spread out across multiple floors like a huge 3 dimensional maze but once you get used to the layout it really adds to the character and charm of the place and you get a real sense that this really is a department store. There is a coffee shop/canteen upstairs with good coffee, great cakes and snacks but rather disappointing cooked meals that often take far too long to arrive. The layout is more canteen than coffee shop but I can forgive that because it's rarely crowded and that means no long queues.

They don't have a lot of variety and the women section is very messy. The shoe section is tiny and the beauty section doesn't have enough consultants.

Good shop, good sale prices everything you would expect from a top department store. Nice cafe too☺️
