David Lloyd Speke is one of the best DL clubs in the UK. It’s not only clean but also has the best staffs. They are genuinely polite, always ready to help. The energy of the team at DL Speke is what all other DL club needs to emulate from. Mostly the DL at Lichfield

I have been to many David Lloyd gyms in the country and I can honestly say that this particular David Lloyd is number one for service especially in the restaurant lovely food, attention to detail and overall customer care. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. I always look forward to spending time in this place.

I come here as a guest on my husband's pass once a month so we can gym together and everytime I honestly feel sorry for him the amount he's paying for what you get. OK there is a pool, but the gym facilities are just the same as any other gym I've been to, nothing special. The problem is it seems to be more of a social club for kids and posers and it's always over crowded. People must feel entitled in there as no one puts their weights away after use and everything seems to be falling apart a little, either way surely there should be someone on the gym floor sorting that and cleaning up throughout the day. They even closed the outdoor pool over winter, one of the only reasons he joined to save on heating costs. When people complained they opened it again but raised the monthly price even more. DL can keep their £85 quid or more a month...I'd rather go with the humble £25 a month JD gym thanks!  :

Great facilities and a huge wealth of classes to choose from. Tennis courts are great, and the squash court is also fantastic. Would definitely recommend if you're around in South Liverpool!

Great Club. But if you should find you have a problem with your membership especial payments. you will get no help at all. I rang there head office over an increase in my monthly payment to which i was told they could not help me I would need to speke to my local club. Rang my local club to be told by automated voice i could no longer speke to a representative i had to go though the app  in order to do this i did and low and behold i can have a phone call in two weeks time and in the mean time they have taken me overdrawn as i have a monthly budget for my bills and there increase that i was not aware of as hit me hard. I would defiantly think twice about joining and the email has not gone into my spam folders . I never received it.

Building itself is falling apart; equipment and facilities long outdated; pools are absolutely filthy and nowhere near as maintained as municipal baths; changing rooms, sauna and steam room regularly disgusting; hospitality staff won’t even look at you let alone offer a smile or hello… supposed to be a premium club but just what are we paying for exactly??

Jack Patterson PT - I would highly recommend Jack. Due to an elbow injury I was apprehensive about weight training again but his knowledge and teaching skills worked around this problem with ease. Jack helped me get up and running again at the gym, after a few personal training sessions in, I become confident again and picked up some great techniques along way.

Attended with a friend on a guest pass, had a lovely chat with a lifeguard on shift  ,Izobel, she was so friendly and accommodating which made me feel very welcome.  Just generally had a lovely way about her overall.

Angela almost killed us tonight in Cyclone and it was brilliant - never fails to amaze me how much a fab instructor can encourage. Had to only give 4* because the screen wasn't working. If was grade for the instructor only it would have been 5.

Just called in as I’ve heard such good reviews, wasn’t disappointed on walking in noticed how clean, welcoming and friendly the staff were also they were knowledgeable, efficient and polite. Lovely cafe area which served a good variety of food and drinks
