Haven’t even experienced the service yet and already disappointed. Was referred as an emergency by the crisis team and told I’d be given an urgent appointment within 3 days, it’s now been 5 days and every time I call I’m told “my case is being discussed today” and they’ll “be in contact”, when asked if my appointment will be this week they said they’re not sure. Call my GP and they tell me to wait for my assessment at Arndale. Who can you actually turn to?! Update: had my appointment, now waiting 5 weeks for my medical review even thought I have complained about my medication? Was told to “just come off it and wait for a follow up appointment” despite having nothing in place if I “come off medication”. Honestly never felt more alone and conflicted in what I do!
Complete lack of communication, wait months and months for an appointment, then to be told on the day in a phone call to them that its been cancelled. They are fully aware that people are suffering yet cannot keep the patient informed.
Bunch of clowns. None of them know the first thing about mental health, let alone treating it. None of them are qualified Psychiatrists or Psychologists. It's just a bunch of foreign people with limited English and a check list of 1-5 questions. They are terrible and the whole Kent mental health service is a joke.
Was promised the world, assessments, treatments when all I got was an initial appointment, forgotten medical assessments I was promised, forgotten phone appointments. Rather than a diagnosis I was discharged after 1 real appointment, with a poorly copied information leaflet for me to basically work it out for myself. All the important background information I gave her was incorrect, another patients name on part of my letter, said I have psychosis instead of scoliosis, which I read as a diagnosis and completely crumbled. Felt like I mattered when I was there but after reading the reviews I can see they treat every single patient the same. They don't care. After complaining I was given a new assessment opportunity with the SAME woman who let me down; called to change who I would be seeing and explained my reasons. Never recieved a new appointment and have just been called by the same person who triggered me. My mental health is much worse than it was before coming to arndale house and I'm now in a worrying situation, a situation I had made them completely aware of, that was mentioned in my notes, a situation I was promised support with but here I am feeling helpless. I told them this when they called and hung up and they did not even call back. Forgot to call back when I had "phone assessments" too and I had to chase them. Trying self help books now because I can never put my trust in a mental health professional with a duty of care ever again and don't have the strength to do it. This place needs shutting down and I am genuinely concerned for every single person who has been treated the same way and yet to be treated like it. Cheers for the hindrance instead of promised help. What a waste of tears, hope and energy.
They are the most evil, sadistic monsters I've ever had to deal with. They constantly "discharge" someone who has made several suicide attempts and is in dire need of mental health treatment. They are rude, cruel and frankly should never be allowed near a mentally ill person. I hope they all lose their jobs because someone there is absolutely evil and they won't have leg to stand on if my suicidal brother succeeds. I will sue them senseless. If I had to sum them up in one word it would be EVIL.
Hi all I attend as a carer fore my friend who is really not well with his mental health I was asked by his mother before she passed away to look after her son.The staff at Arndale House are so helpful and kind I could not look after my friend with out there help .when my friend is really not well the staff do there up most to get my friend the help he needs some times that has been to be admitted to hospital The day to day care fore my friend is coordinated by sky who one the nice s caring health professionals I have ever met . He is so knowledgeable regarding my friends health condition how best to manage it I'm really grateful to all the staff many thanks andy
Iv been promised for 3years about treatment and nothing has happened put in a formal complaint let's see what happens now
feel they have strung me along for almost 2 years. I have been passed from departments. Been trying to call them for 3 days with no answer. They kept loosing my paperwork so I had to keep repeating myself. They just pile on prescriptions and don't even remember who you are when you return. You're not important to them. Got a swift diagnosis and then rejected.
Upon seeing review after review stating negative experiences, my first impression was tainted by them. I can only speak for my own experience but the 1 star stars are unjustified. The people are what makes the service, and while the experience has been quite drawn out, it has worked for me. I've had friendly follow up calls, since the initial consultations and I felt my situation was looked after well. I would state that my 4 star because of the staff. If I was rating alone on the process and facilities, I would be saying 1-2 stars as it isn't the most inspiring of places — and this — is — not — the — fault of those who work there. It is an NHS provided service, they need more funding to have the glitz and glam and all of the tech that we'd all love in our super convenient lives. So if you can see past the fact that the building needs a bit of modernisation and TLC, to allow the staff to actually help you, you'll benefit. Thank you Arndale house, keep helping folks who can afford the time to follow the procedures and the process — it does get there in the end.
I am never one to write negative reviews but felt this was necessary. During my time with Arndale house and the crisis team, the only positive thing that has come out of the experience was receiving my diagnosis' apart from that I have received next to no support from them especially back in July when I had a bad MH episode which resulted in a hospital stay, I received no check ups as I was told I was on a waiting list and the only call I have received was 3 months later. Another experience i had with the crisis team is that I turned upto A&E as advised if I ever felt I couldn't keep myself safe and then after waiting hours for a member of crisis to see me, I was told by this man who was visibly irritated that "you shouldn't be here at this time as well as there is covid" and was then taken into a room and told "its all just part of your diagnosis and there's nothing physically wrong with you so just go home".
