This was a cheap deal off Groupon and we were treated cheaply during our stay to be honest. Slow service as soon as we arrived, with the woman on the reception desk typing away at a screen without acknowledging us. The room was tatty, badly needed redecorating and a new TV , and overall really required updating. The WiFi wasn't included which, these days, really is unacceptable. Asking people to pay extra for  this is a liberty. The service at dinner was slow, with us again waiting like lemons at the welcome desk to be seated,with 2 women messing around with notepads and a screen without acknowledging us. The only redeeming feature was that the food was quite nice and one of the waitresses was very helpful and attentive (wish I had her name to commend her) but that's not enough to recommend a stay at this place at all.

Not generally a critical review as I only used the gym 3 times a week for 3 years - I worked on the Daresbury estate. I'd say that for what it cost per month (£25) it was worth the money. The gym had enough for me to use and it never got too busy. Sometimes the equipment would be broken for a couple of weeks before repair. 
One problem is the showers... There was always at least one (out of 3) faulty in some way, which meant that you'd have to wait until someone finished.
Most of the health & fitness staff were helpful and friendly as were some of the gym goers. From time to time you do get groups of loud chavs in there though, swearing in front of kids etc.

Clean room and comfy bed. Water was way too hot to be able to use the bath or shower. Staff member on desk was rude. Plug sockets in random places & also not enough of them

Terrible service and quality of food. Waited for drinks for 45 minutes after ordering them. Self service food but only dirty plates, waited for ages for clean ones but they didn’t arrive either. Felt sick after eating, which could be the food or just the thought of it - either way it isn’t great really. Room looks the complete opposite of what was advertised. Stained carpets and sheets and categorically not even worth £40 per night. Would rather have stayed in a cardboard box with the rhinos at the local zoo.
