I was there for 11months and witnessed so called nurses being heavy handed. And management having no control on the bad apples. Worst unit I have ever been in. A handful of staff were gunuine and even helped me to expose the wrong doers but, nothing changed. Filthy place and very bad food. It was a sackable offence for staff to eat the food when I was there, I wonder why. Tillery Valley Foods supplied the hospital as well. They got exposed by Channel 4 dispatches.

My daughter time here was over due length by 5 months hindering long term therapy, lack of communication between staff aswell as to family letting me know after A&E visit not before, drinking cool packs banning her from the use of them only for her to be moved ward  3 days later allowed one on that ward with same outcome and another trip to A&E. Staff falling asleep on shift, incidents like being punched in the face by a staff member reported to me by my daughter not staff. Being locked in seclusion for several hours no food or drink offered. Far too many agency staff that care nothing for these patients long term goals! This hospital has alot to answer for as if the beginning of my daughter treatment was a success maybe another 18 months later she would be a little better. Some VERY good members of regulars staff and her personal physician was always reachable...honest and tentative.

Genuinely an absolutely amazing camhs unit. I was there for 3 months and they were amazing. I'm glad I went there because before I did arrive, I was put on 2/3 different anti-psychotics including diazipam, citalopram and melaton in and pretty much as soon as I go transferrd to Alpha, they took me off most of them and reviewed my medication. 
The groups were good, the rooms were nice and the good was good. It was really spacious, as there was the dining area, TV area, the quite room and the atrium. 
The only downfall was that when I was struggling with eating although some of the staff were really really supportive, when I came back from a&e due to low blood sugar from not eating for days, most of the of the staff didn't acknowledge that I was still really struggling with it. But if there was there patients struggling with it, they'd get spoken to straight away. Apart from that, overall the hospital was really good and I've been out of hospital ever since I turned 18☺ (2015)

the other patients were so nice and easy to connect with,my bedroom was lovely with an on sweet,and they helped me so much with my aggression although there was some down sides,I did pick up some self harm from the other young people as I went in with my arms clean and then came out with horrific deep scars all over them
