A relative of mine was recently in this hospital for a few months. She made a very good recovery once they found the right treatment. There are many things that need improving at the hospital, especially their communication with family members. They were initially very rude and made me cry on multiple occasions. I lodged a formal complaint and their attitude changed a little, then got better as my relative improved. I am so happy with the improvement made to the patient, but they need a dedicated family and friend liaison, as the staff don't care about the family or friends. We have enough stress, we don't need it increased by nurses.
My Son suffered. The day to day staff had no experience of mental health. They admitted to me that they just needed a job. Absolutely no experience in mental health. My Son was cut out of a noose 4 times under their watch. He absconded under their watch. The Police and I liaised to find my Son. Cutting himself in a graveyard! When questioned, the staff member said 'I'm an electrician. I can't find work'
Incredibly rude staff member. I called to spoke to a member of staff Hosion around 11am on George Willard ward. She was very rude and didn't let me speak at all. The conversation was a monologue with her and she wouldn't let me add a comment. Then played a victim card saying I was being rude to a staff member when I try to interject in the conversation, asking her to let me add my comments in after she's making points. All calls are recorded I have nothing to hide, I wasn't rude or mean, I kindly asked multiple times if she can let me speak too.
my stay in khalo ward I was made very welcome and treated nicely and fairly by all staff. Very clean facilities to.
I am a patient here at kahlo ward and I can say the staff are amazing and so supportive. They took care of my mental health and have this calm, non-judgemental approach..which is really helpful in my journey to recovery. The doctor is lovely as well I felt comfortable sharing information about my health and discussing treatment options. Thank you to ALL the staff members who work really really hard to help us on a daily basis.
