Stopped off on the way to Aberystwyth. Lovely service and fresh food. The fish goujon sandwich was huge! Worth the price and definitely filled me. Generous portion. Will be the new place to pop in now on our long journeys!
Friendly staff, lovely Sunday lunch meal, parking, beer garden and extremely dog friendly, dogs allowed inside and outside, would recommend and will visit again when am in the area.
We spotted this place in the middle of a 4 hour drive and popped in searching for sustenance. We were quickly seated and food took no time at all to arrive. It was reasonably priced - we had starters and a main - and absolutely stunning. My husband had the beef Sunday Roast, whilst I had Crab Mac n' Cheese with salad and garlic bread. We were in fact so full that neither of us needed dinner later that evening despite eating at 1pm! The waitress who served us we missed her name unfortunately, but she was very young was very happy to help with anything and was a joy to talk to. They also had the sweetest sheep dog on site who was happy to play fetch and was just generally adorable. It was clear as we were leaving that the site is dog friendly for all as other guests were showing up with their furred friends. Excellent experience in general and we've noted it on our GMaps as a place to stop in future excursions!
Delicious food. Simple well prepared dishes. I had a very tasty steak and chef happy to serve a diet version with lots of nice veg. Log fire. Not fancy schmancy just a real basic proper pub. Good beer. Loved it.
Travelling through Pant to visit a sick relative. Stopped by chance and myself and husband had a great lunch. Friendly staff, open fire and the food was fantastic. My husband even said it was the best chicken burger he had had in a long time. Will definitely call in again.
Drinks are reasonably priced, garden is great and dog friendly to a point ....landlord does bring his dog out off- lead to play ball....which distressed our dog and I do believe....all dogs should be on lead in a public area. Those are the positives, the food is basically rubbish and the service and customer service is non-existant! My advice regarding the Cross Guns....is to travel a few hundred yards up the road heading towards Oswestry and go to the most excellent White Lion...better service, fantastic menu choice, and frankly better attitude.
Ten out of ten as usual. The beef dinner was just delicious and the red cabbage was the best I've had. We always call when passing from Llani to Manchester and can't wait until next time. All the best for Christmas and the new year to you all.
* Poor * Really not one to complain but came out of her really deflated. One meal out of six finished and that’s only because I was starving and 22 weeks pregnant. Stick to “ The Hungry Horse “. Atmosphere shocking, we been travelling 6 hours after picking our boy up from army and really looked nice from outside. We are so down to earth and friendly and just felt so frowned down upon. They really didn’t care about how you were served or spoken to. No chips available just fried, which is not the end of the world if they were fresh. If only we knew mc Donald’s were down the road, we would have gone there. As a buisness owner you go out of your way to please customers but I don’t think they know how to even be friendly. Steak was nice but mushroom and tomato were from breakfast by looks of. Poor, poor. Very disappointed. It’s nice to be nice and accommodating and this is something that was totally lacking.
had a great pint of Madri and a small scamp and chips with mushy peas which was great. Ireland were playing Wales great atmosphere and lovely log fire. seemed under staffed but very friendly. very in expensive at £7.50 per meal but great value for a good lunch. had scamp.and chips
Fantastic service and food.. stopped off for food on way home from Manchester and the staff couldn't be more accommodating so me my wife and daughter could have a cooked meal on our way home.. highly recommend this pub... 5 start service and 5 star food...
