Can never get appointments , you can only get seen for 1 symptom at a time so because of this I've got medications for 4 different things now been seen by a surgeon and told I possibly have lupus. It's shocking when you have lots of symptoms but can only talk about 1 then being told they were not linked but surgeon at rvi says he'd be shocked if they are not linked it's been 2 years of bk and forth and only now is the rvi helping me he took over an hour to go over symptoms i was impressed with rvi. I'll be changing doctors soon as I know what's wrong with me . Would not recommend this surgery. I've been with crawcrook doctors all my life it was a great surgery years ago , I used to like dr Chapman from that time. It's really bad now regarding everything from getting an appointment , e consults being ignored, some receptionists are awful the actual doctor's in there are great its everything else I've had to ring 111 5 times last year for an appointment, 111 saying i had to be seen that day it really is the pits, new patients go somewhere else i do not recommend this surgery
My husband went on Wednesday 19th and got a prescription. We live in Swalwell so drove up to whickham pharmacy , only to be told that the item on the prescription was discontinued, in fact it had been discontinued for several years. We were told to get back in touch with the doctor .nWe drove back to Crawcrook to find it was closed for training.nI had to wait until the following morning before I could ring and speak to a receptionist , she said she would sort out an alternative product with the doctor and would send me a text to let me know when I could collect it from my pharmacy at Whickham.nIt is now Friday 21st at 6.30pm and we have had no contact from Crawcrook surgery.nThis is a disgrace. Firstly, why would a doctor prescribe a discontinued product? Surely they should check before issuing and secondly why have they not been back in contact with us as promised. They are now closed for the weekend.nI would like someone from the practice to contact me , explaining why on both occasions nothing has been done.nMy husband is called Perry Gordon.
I do not rate this practice at all, since moving to the area 3 years ago. It actually worries me as a patient and as a health professional myself, how this service is being run.nThey lost my medical records initially and halted my partners daily medical treatment that cannot be stopped.nIt takes at least 20 mins to get through on the phone, there is a continuous message about either joining the patient group or rude behaviour that won’t be tolerated, not such a great promotion of a service provider. No wonder people get irate when waiting on the phone for too long.nThey insist on making a GP appointment for small tasks that could be managed by a simple telephone review call. They are wasting valuable GP appointments.nIt really concerns me how this service is being managed. There is a large elderly population in the area and my question is, are these people receiving the adequate health care they need? Probably not.
For some reason there has been a huge decline in the service provided by this GP. Rang when I was in agony with a uti, all I needed was antibiotics and got told no appointments were available . . . Like ever. They couldn't issue a prescription for meds or even let me speak to a doctor. 111 sorted me a prescription immediately and within hours I felt better. More recently absolutely crippled with pain and the runs, and refused to accept a stool sample! Again 111 had to get in touch with them telling them to take my sample. It's sad this place has deteriorated so much, our health is important!
How do you get an appointment these days ??nAlso receptionist triaging really. Reading questions off a screen. Is this really 21st century healthcarenI said i think i have a chest infection ive had one before she started asking questions does your chest hurt. Yes well ringing 999 im not having a heart attack well they system says ring 999 but you only asked me one question.nWell we have no appointments try again tomorrownWell done on your triage skills
