Good food, great service. They catered well for our little nieces birthday, and made an extra special desert for her and her little sister, and sang happy birthday to her too. The staff work hard both in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. The quality of food is fresh and you can taste this. A good choice to choose from, and the price is reasonable. Would recommend booking a table in advance as this place is always busy.

Really surprising and worth a visit. Took my dad for his 94th birthday and enjoyed a table with a view with some great food. Not much on the vegetarian menu but I got a nice cheese and onion pie. Dessert was excellent

I was surprised by the quality of the food here - I thought I was going for a quick café bite and ended off with gourmet-level food. There's nothing vegetarian on the mains menu but it looks like there's always a veggie option on the specials board, and, I mean, this is a meat shop business, so I didn't expect much choice or love, but I was wrong: nut roast with veg was a quality affair, a slight curried variation on the normal recipe, but not overpowering. Veg crisp and well done, thin gravy was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Now, and let's remember this was great food, the niggles: Heart FM plays loudly, a commercial radio station, so you end off listening to adverts for much of your meal! And the jam glaze on the nut roast rendered the whole thing a bit sweet for my palette. Great stuff though, really great.

This is one of the best places in Lancaster to eat really good food and a great atmosphere, I would always recommend to book as it does get busy
