We enjoyed everything offered in Cool Jade - food, wine and hospitality. Great Cantonese cuisine, I wouldn’t refer the dishes as 100% authentic but we have just been satisfied with the quality, and the choices of compliments with the meat could not be more apt. Don’t miss the ice-cream, they are brilliant! Most staff could speak Cantonese, and they were very welcoming.
Very good food and great portions, when we first ordered and looked at the prices we thought it was a little steep, and we feel like we didn’t order enough, starters, rice to share and 1 main each! It was more than enough and we were both stuffed. Great restaurant, friendly happy staff.

This is a favourite of ours when in Edinburgh. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the food is always good. Always advisable to book in advance, especially at weekends. I had sesame prawn toast to start, then salt and chilli king prawns with fried rice. Generous portions.
We are away for my girlfriends birthday and wanted somewhere nice to eat. Cool jade is right across from where we are staying so we booked a table here. At first we thought it was so expensive! We ordered anyway as we were already here. The staff made the experience so lovely, made us feel important and well looked after. The food portions are great! We ordered the banquet for 2 and we had food left over which they boxed up for us to take with us. The food is so tasty and not your typical greasy Chinese take away. We ended the meal with Chinese tea which was lovely. The whole experience was so worth the price. Would definitely go back in the future.
Local staple. It's one of the best Chinese restaurants in Edinburgh. Parking on the road when the bus lane hours end and there's a bus stop right outside too. Great food, served on hot plates to your table to keep warm. Good selection of drinks and the place itself is nicely decorated. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Eating in is a good deal more expensive than the takeaway menu. It is to be expected but you will pay £25 a head here pretty easily. So just be aware. Otherwise I can't recommend it highly enough.
What an amazing restaurant. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was the best Satay Prawn I've ever had. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.
Really nice place. Friendly staff and very efficient service. Food was superb, very nice atmosphere btw this restaurant is placed in a beautifully converted residential house and has a wide range of vegetarian options. The dishes were also quite ample. It's not cheap, but you get great value for your money. Vegetarian options: As mentioned above, quite a range of vegetarian dishes. We had vegetarian Sze Chuan and a Tzechiu with egg-fried rice and a side of Chinese greens and they were all lovely, as we're the puddings. Parking: Parked across the street. This is free from 6:30 onwards, so we were fine, but earlier would be trickier and later, when the place gets really busy, might be tricky too. I'm sure it would be possible to find somewhere to park, but perhaps it would be a little walk away from there.
Had dinner this evening, overall food was very good and service was excellent. Found the dining room a bit dark and had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu. The only slight let down was the liquor coffees which were both very weak in alcohol tasting. Other than that a great night was had by all four of us. We normally use the Chinese Manor house which I still think is slightly bettter but Cool Jade cannot be dismissed as it is a very good Chinese in our area. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice Parking: Small space at front. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at entrance and toilet on ground level.
Very efficient and friendly service. I had a delicious starter of salt and chilli prawns. Sadly, my next course of chicken in mandarin sauce was bland and I ate very little of it. But the staff were lovely!Food: 3/5
