Went to get my son's passport renewed and was in and out in about 25 minutes. So quick and efficient and the staff were lovely too. Ive been here many times in the past and I've always been so amazed at how quick it is to get a passport etc. Easy and effortless as long as you come prepared will all the documentation!
i went to renew my passport but had forgotten all the required paperwork at home! despite my mistake, the staff were lovely and helped me complete the process anyway, providing new forms and waiting patiently for me to get new photos taken in town. very grateful for their kind and efficient service!
It is always a pleasure to be attended by Giorgio. He is very kind and polite. I have been attended at the right time, and my new password has been issued in less than 10 minutes.
Absolute waste of time and offered little or no help in respect of registering the death of an Italian citizen. The person was more interested in finishing the call quickly to keep the line open for other callers.. I contacted Edinburgh because of a poor one line no help response from a 'no named person' in an email enquiry. My last dealings with Manchester was 10 years ago when applying for a holiday visa for my partner..they quoted a 3 month turnaround and so we got the Schengen visa via France in 4 days. The excuse by the Italian consulate back then was a lack of staff... It would seem that ten years later nothing has changed.. A very sloppy uncaring, unthoughtful, rude attitude. These people should not be in the job and the Italian government should overhaul it's overseas setup and look at improving the service they give to their own people... but there again, I forget..Italy and bureaucracy...!!
The most efficient and effective Consulate I have ever been to. I have called them before and they have been super nice and informative. I moved my aire residence from Canada to Scotland recently and I needed to update my passport. I followed the instructions and booked an appointment for the beginning of Jan 2023. Showed up a bit earlier and they saw me right away. 15 minutes later I had my new passport! This has never happened to me. Shocked on how easy it was. Additionally, I needed to do my Carta d’identità and since we had a little bit more time decided to just start the process asap. I will get it in leas than two weeks no need to go back. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!

A lot could be said about Italian public administration, but as far as the Italian Consulate in Edinburgh is concerned, they have always dealt with our queries swiftly. I was especially impressed by the quick turnaround on the first Italian passport for our newborn. Thank you!
