So grateful to have this pub within walking distance, so a much welcome new local for us. Staff are super friendly and we really appreciate the table service - very attentive. Dog friendly too, so big thumbs up from us. Thank you for the team that have taken this over and hope in return, the locals use you regularly.
Fantastic roast dinner, such an amazing refurb & such top quality food. I would say the price is well worth it. Great service, attentive staff. Nice selection of good food & drinks. I am so happy we now have such a quality local pub in the area. The old Compasses pub was a total dive - don’t be put off by the name being the same or the old pics still on google maps as it has completely changed!
Since recently reopening the compass pub, we’ve been down there on several occasions. The place is very well maintained to a very high standard. Staff are extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you and they welcome your dog too with treats and friendly cuddles. Highly recommended.
So grateful to have this pub as our local. Friendly staff, homely atmosphere and delicious food. Really accommodating with allergies- nothing was too much trouble. Huge thanks to the team for a great Sunday lunch!
Absolutely amazing…once again. The Sunday Roast is on of the best roasts in the area, with the attentive service to match. The beef was tender and hot, the carrots cooked all the way through just like the leeks. The cauliflower cheese was thick and cheesy with great flavor. The gravy! Great consistency and flavor as well. The roast potatoes fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. All made better by how fast everything arrived to the table. Super friendly and attentive staff. If you are in the area, you deffo cannot go wrong with this place!
Newly opened and nicest enough place. Would go back, limited menu but fresh cooled and quality food. Value for money maybe a 3, however the slightly expensive but very good quality wine put our bill up.
Really lovely family venue for Sunday lunch. Checked the website for the menu before we went but it only showed a very limited option. Upon phoning they confirmed they offered a full roast dinner. Perhaps the website should be updated? Food was excellent and standard sort of prices for what was offered. It was very quiet in there for a Sunday at 2pm, hope they don't struggle for trade as it is a great addition to the area.
Had burgers from "The Patty Guy" and they were delicious, best burgers we've had in Chelmsford. We collected our order, but had a quick drink and the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. Really lovely atmosphere in the pub. I would go back and eat in next time. Highly recommend the food and location.Service: 5/5
Not a normal pub now drinks far too expensive hence why it was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. Staff were so bored I had 3 all trying to serve me. Friendly welcome but not for the average pub goer in ChelmsfordService: 4/5
Staff are really welcoming and it's a pleasure to go there. Lots of events regularly including the monthly quiz which is stongly contested. Food is incredibly goodand the staff just can't do enough to make your visit the best. Haven't used the rooms so can't comment on those Food & drinks: Amazing food and excellent range of drinks
