What a really lovely place for something to eat and drink. The staff were so friendly. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was great.
We moved to Chelmsford a year ago and although I’ve been in for a cheeky pint we’ve never been in for a full sit down meal. With my mum visiting from the north we decided to pop in for a roast before taking baby Foodmunkey to the pirate ship playground around the back. From the outset we were greeted warmly having the door held open for us to bring the pram in, seated and provided our menus. The service though was fantastic throughout, even allowing us to order our sons food later on when he woke up. The trio roast was amazing. I just wish I’d have ordered more pigs in blankets as my wife stole my only one haha! For the most part the starters were lovely, I’d just have liked the sauce on the prawn cocktail to have a little extra kick, but that’s just my preference. We will definitely be back though for another roast and just for a general sit down meal! Or even just a cheeky pint…. Again
The quality of the food was great. Anyone can cook a roast but it’s not that easy to cook one really well! Beautiful Turkey succulent and full of flavour. Array of seasonal veg was also perfect. And then there’s the Yorkshire pudding *drools*. Fantastic food, great friendly service. What’s not to love??!!

Lovely meal last night with family/friends. There was 13 of us and Megan, who was looking after us, was brilliant. She made a great evening perfect with her professionalism, attention to detail and friendliness. A real asset to the company. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Went for lunch today , outstanding all throughout our time here. Would like to say thank you to Erica who was accommodating to our needs and what I felt was that extra mile in making sure we enjoyed our time. Have booked in for next week and look forward to trying some more of the new dishes on the menu.
Great atmosphere inside. Great location. Friendly service. Nice pub. But service was unnecessarily slow. Was not busy and I waited a long time to get served and then for the drinks to be prepared. Bartenders were not proficient.
Had a lovely lunch with family. Great selection of freshly prepared food at a reasonable price- service was great as well! Will defiantly be making a visit again soon!
This place is lovely. Staff are great. I thinks roast was lacking. Only 2 hard carrots and some hard brocoli as veg. Hard colliflower extra. I know many people like hard veg so if that's you crack on this place is nice. Overall not enough on plate for money. I'll not go again but clearly many people love it so maybe it's my problem
Terrible service and we were completely ignored after arriving for a booked table on mother's Day. it took about 20 minutes. Before anyone acknowledged us. We walked out over Two hours later still waiting for our main course plates to be collected and we never even got to order any sweets. What was supposed to be a pleasurable experience was nothing less than a complete nightmare.
