We had a table for 6 in a little alcove y the entrance. Very quiet but also rather distanced from passing waitresses so we had to hunt for one! Delicious food, as always .... particularly good as it was a Sunday so there was roast lamb! Very festive decorations throughout and very friendly and welcoming staff. Parking: Lots of parking and only a short walk to the entrance.
Danielle was great at greeting us and letting us know the process. Very efficient service at the bar. Good selection of all available food, which was still hot. Andris was visible replenishing items throughout our stay. An overall excellent service. Thank you.
Food and Service were great. Trouble is the Pub itself badly needs refurbishment so the whole experience is aesthetically poor s the outside paint is peeling, the inside tables and chairs are badly damaged and in need of replacing and the inside decor plus carpets are shabby. This causes a very bad first impression which means the food expectations despite food being great cannot overcome the disappointment for folk that like a nice environment to enjoy their experience
Terrible experience last night unfortunately, as we were out to celebrate. Service was terrible apparently we had to go easy on her as she’s new. Table was set up but filthy, had to actually clean it ourselves. Food was even worse, everything was dry, overcooked and cold. Couldn’t eat most of it. Plates not cleared from our table, nor any other table. Our plates were still there after we left, and was not even asked if we wanted dessert. Other diners trying to order drinks/desserts/get their bill, but no waitress to be seen. Apart from the new one that was sitting at the bar area having a chat!!! Didn’t want to cause an atmosphere and complain at the time, because as stated above we were celebrating and I didn’t want to dampen the mood. Just won’t be back.
Pre booked and payed nearly £400 for 6 people to have the Christmas menu, so overpriced for what you actually get! Waited 2 HOURS to be seated and when we did they couldn’t recall what we had actually ordered‍ For starter I had ‘Camembert fondant” which wasn’t even Camembert it was just melted cheese, we didn’t get our drinks that we had asked the waitress for, I had to go up to the bar myself and get them, and the cutlery was dirty. People waiting to be seated, when there were clearly plenty of tables to be filled. When dessert came and our plates were cleared, my other half sitting next to me was wearing a fairly new blue shirt and the same waitress dropped a used knife on him covering his arm in gravy and just walked off without noticing! My dessert didn’t even turn up, staff didn’t have a clue what was going on and we were so disappointed with the service! Got our money back in the end but wouldn’t recommend going here at all.
One of the best Toby carvery meals we've had. Not busy but enough people to ensure buffet items not sitting around too long. Great service at table 22 10/12/22 14:00 - 15:30 but didn't catch the young lady's nameFood: 5/5
staff and service was great - all very friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed our food - 20 people. I was a little disappointed not to see lamb on the menu, but enjoyed my turkey and beef. Happy all round. You had a toilet malfunction men's and the staff apologised and said they were onto it and had asked for engineer to come round - rather than ignore the problem or not take responsibility which I thought showed character.
First time visiting this place and I was left full and extremely satisfied!! The food was so fresh, and the meat, especially the beef was melt in the mouth! Out of 6 of us, 3 kids included, there was 6 clean plates by the end of the meal! Will love to visit again
Went to toby carvery for a breakfast. It was a while since I have been to that one and I enjoyed the breakfast very much. We were served straight away and given our cutlery and let us know you can choose where to sit, over all it was friendly, clean and the food was good
The meat was beautiful. Maybe not enough servers as the first 2 tables we were led to were dirty even though we'd booked, and then we were a bit forgotten about. Chicken nuggets part of the chicken burger were so overcooked they were inedible. Our server did kindly take these off the bill.
