If you want a nice and quiet pub for a drink with a bit of food, this is a great option. I have tried about 6 things from the menu, and apart from the burger it has never excited me. So if you want a good meal, try looking elsewhere. If you want a cosy place to have a business meeting, with free parking, this is one of the best options in Chelmsford.
Very nice atmosphere. Was there for set party buffet. Spread was very nice and fresh. Would have liked back door to have wheelchair access so husband could sit out with rest of guests elsewise a perfect visit.
We went for mother's day lunch and thought there would be a children's munu but not so they were only offered smaller adult meals which were awful my husband refused to pay for his meal . We had a roast dinner and the Yorkshire puddings were black. We used to go there when it was The Alma and it was good. We won't be going there again.
Booked my birthday party here. Excellent venue. Great food and bar staff were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much for them. Would definitely recommend this venue
Really nice, comfortable plush homely yet classy pub with a good vibe. Range of beers is pretty limited though but considering the location it should be expected.
Atmosphere and food is great. Everyone who wants to know how British pub looks like should go there and feel it.
