It is located around 1.5km or 0.8 miles from the city centre, so it's accessible by foot. There is a lift to the platform, a couple of stores and a small diner, with adjacent toilets that are clean and spacious. The station is relatively small, but one has shelter in case of bad weather. You will need a ticket to enter or leave the station, as there are check-in ramps. Police are present too, usually. Outside, there is ample parking available. All in all, a well run little operation.
As far as stations go it's fine. Has several coffee shops including a starbucks and a whsmith. The lift breaks a lot!
Very helpful line manager, particularly if you need out of ordinary assistance
I love my station. Never had issues. Very friendly staff
On way to see family in Colchester station was clean and tidy 1st travelling by train, always drive
