We found the cop op funeral care East Ham to be very disappointing. If you want to look at any funeral plans for a funeral directors, CRIBBS would be the best bet all day long. Patricia who runs this office, continually got the spelling of my mother in laws name wrong. We ordered a white wicker casket and got a wicker brown coloured casket. Patricia, rang on the Thursday to say that the casket was not bright white, but was white. As this was not the case, Patricia lied. When we got to the chapel of rest on the following day, Patricia was very unprofessional and entered the room where my Mother in law was and was discussing matters over her casket with My wife and sister in law. This was extremely unprofessional and any discussions should never take place in the room where your loved one is lying. The name plate on the casket had the wrong spelling of my mother in laws surname and Middle name , that was a theme throughout any form filling that Patricia was still getting wrong after being corrected a couple of times. Also Patricia had many photos of my Mother in law and they managed to put her hair on the wrong side with a quif , but all photos showed her hair to the left and down and the make up was not done well and there was stray facial hair left on my mother in law. This was also pointed out to Patricia. We left on the Friday with the understanding the casket would be replaced as we had bought flowers to match a white casket. Also that the name plate would be changed and my mother in laws hair changed and make up done better with any stray facial hair pulled off . When other family members arrived on Saturday Morning , none of the above had been done even though Patricia knew other family members would be attending. This caused further unnecessary stress. My wife then got a call from management to say that there was no way that they could change the casket in time for the funeral as Finding out Friday afternoon left it to late, this was distressing and if Patricia had not misled my wife on the Thursday , maybe a white casket could of been sought. We were told we would have to postpone the funeral that was on the Monday if we wanted the white casket or get a refund for the casket we had. As we could not postpone the funeral we had to buy a garland of flowers to wrap around the whole casket to try and disguise the colour of the casket. We were not offered for a refund of the extra flowers. When looking at other reviews on CO OP’S main site , this seems to not be an isolated incident. The colour of the casket was also in our view , tried to be covered up as the room that my mother in law was in was so dimly lit by one lamp, we had to put our phone lights on to look at things in the room. We found out later there was a main light switch in the room that other family members found and turned on. This was definitely a ploy to disguise everything that was wrong. When we went to the Same room on the Monday to check everything was ok, I went in after my wife to find my wife and Patricia in the room with my mother-in-law, the door was open and the light fully on , again discussing matters over the casket. This looked and felt so wrong, but it was becoming evident, Patricia does not work in a dignified or professional way. As I had called Patricia out on the phone for misleading my wife, Patricia did not even acknowledge me when I entered the room and completely ignored that I was there. So if you do already have a CO OP plan for a relative, try to avoid this branch as you will regret it . I was compelled to write this review as my sister in law has just received a letter from Patricia asking for feedback, not an inkling of an apology and guess what, yes Patricia again spelt the family Surname wrong and my Mother in laws middle name. You couldn’t make it up!
This is my 3rd funeral in 8 months and the co op have been very good helping me with my arrangements and have treated me with care and kindness and shown my family respect and i cant say anything bad
Awful.Avoid and try Cribbs for a dignified, empathetic experience. At a lower cost than coop simple plan!! Was given funeral information on a post it note!!!
