I have ordered carpet from them before, and they have top quality carpet. They were able to get me the same carpet that was no longer on display which was excellent. They are able to offer a full fitting service. I was searching for a bed and Downs had the best prices in town, they were able to have the bed made and delivered the day after they fitted my new carpet. It's their service and quality that has made them a landmark in Newbury!

Fabulous service!. I needed a new carpet (for a house we let) in a hurry - both in terms of the time I had available to select/ order it, and the small window of time to get it fitted. Basically Downs in Newbury made it all so easy, I was really grateful. I explained what I needed, and they recommended a good solution - and didn't try to sell me underlay that I didn't need! They were able to provide an accurate quote in store using my measurements (without me needing to arrange a separate appointment at the house), then took up my old carpet, disposed of it and fitted the new one - including collecting and returning the house key to the estate agents for us. A brilliant service that was just what I needed at a stressful time!

Very happy with overall experience. The fitters did a great job, arrived when they said they would, sang happily away whilst working and cleared up their mess. Pleased to recommend them

Caroline has been a pleasure throughout, very friendly & good knowledge of the products, and also what will suit different floor types. And the fitters have also been very nice, professional & efficient. Highly recommend Downs of Newbury.

First class service from start to finish. Staff in store were helpful without being overbearing. Carpet was available in time frame promised, didn't pressure into buying expensive underlay - in fact confirmed that our existing underlay was still in very good condition. Fitting was completed promptly and perfectly. All in all, everything you would want from a carpet shop.
