Clissold Park

Story

Clissold Park is a designated community park (22.57ha) in Stoke Newington, within the London Borough of Hackney. Its facilities include children's playgrounds, sports fields, a bowling green, tennis courts, the café and some other attractions including terrapins in its lakes, as well as deer, quail, and rabbits. The park also comprises remains of the New River, and the Capital Ring has some of its paths running through a small section of the park.HistoryClissold House was built, in the latter half of the 18th century, for Jonathan Hoare, a City merchant, Quaker, philanthropist and anti-slavery campaigner. The park was created to be his idyll, and the stretch of water which wends its way around the house was once part of the New River, a canal that supplied London with clean water from Hertfordshire.

This park is such a life saver. It's clean, big, local, easy to get too, has restrooms, bins painted with cow pattern. It's great for a little stroll with your family and many many dogs. For children they will be entertained by the park or the splash pad book online which is free and the kids love it. We saw some wildlife a goat and deers and I felt very safe in this park. There was plenty of green fields to sit for a picnic and to rest. The park is very big, even though there were many people here during the summer you are still able to find a spot to call yours. The huge trees offer shade and breeze which is lovely and the area is very nice. There are benches located all around and they gave a small cafe here too. You can see many people from all ages enjoy this park. E went during the evening and the sky was beautiful and breezy. Definitely recommend for a day out of even a date.
Peaceful park lovely for morning walks, jogs & cycles. You can see deer fallow, goats, ducks, swans & lots of pet doggies! Clean & well-manicured with loads of seats.
Clissold Park in London is a delightful destination offering a child friendly vibrant atmosphere and a plethora of enjoyable activities for a memorable day out. The park features lovely green spaces, the picturesque Clissold House, and an array of wildlife, making it a perfect spot for relaxation or a fun day with friends and family. Don't miss out on the splash pad, my toddler and I had an amazing time playing with the other kids. Picnic area: A really great picnic area very clean.
Lovely wide open green space and gardens. Perfect for families to get fresh air and exercise. Gated area behind the manor provides safe spaces for little ones to ride bikes and practice sports.
Really nice park. It has a lot of playgrounds, a nice garden, and all kinds of trees. I saw maple /sweet chestnut/mulberry/crabapple/cedar/ash etc etc
Visited again recently, always a nice place to visit a few times a month! Especially love the animals It’s nice to have Fink’s coffee too, but wish the upstairs cafe would reopen in the grand building, the park would be complete again!
Such a great park you would pass with your bike. You could see the birds, goats and lake. Around the park there is a sainsbury. The church using as art centre. I see mostly the concert announcements.
Kids enjoyed the splash pad and looking at the wildlife at the park. beautiful park
The park was beautiful. 2 large lakes & a varied choice of cakes & food in the cafe, which had wheel chair access & was also dog friendly. Disappointed that l didn't see the fallow deer but it was a beautiful day & plenty of open spaces for the dogs. Plenty for children to do &see. A parents heaven. Playground: There was a lot of variety for children 2-11. Swings, round-a-bouts as well as a zip wire for older children. Also a pool & area for parents to keep a watchful eye. Dog-friendliness: Open & woodland areas for dogs to run free. The cafe is also available to both eat inside & outside with your dog. Water bowls available. Picnic area: Large open spaces or shaded areas where families can eat there food while the children play safely.
This is a beautiful park, full of activity and well used by the local community. The centre point is a very pleasant cafe, that does a roaring trade. It also has a lovely small waterway and some small lakes that sustain some pleasant Bird and plant life. It also has a small wildlife space including deer and other animals, and an excellent children's adventure play area and some tennis courts. The open green spaces interspersed with some interesting trees create a relaxing and peaceful environment. This park contributes to a good quality of life in the inner city.
