It's a nice little park, today was unusually busy because of the heat, usually there are just fewer people, some with their dogs, some exercising some just relaxing on the grass....there is also an ice cream van at the lower end of the park.
What can I say? My daughter has been running around this park since she was one. For me, it’s the most beautiful park in London, filled with my memories.
My favourite area and it's fun to be around in all weather, friendly area, dogs allowed and there's a playground nearby for children. Great area to do anything, picnic, read, watch the world go by Playground: Yes for children Restrooms: In the playground Dog-friendliness: Yes everywhere Picnic area: Yes everywhere
Highbury Fields is a quiet and beautiful green oasis just off the the high street. It’s surrounded by a mixture of well-kept Georgian and Victorian terraced houses. There are ample public tennis courts, football pitches, basketball hoops and two good children's play area. Locals walk their dogs and stroll about with their children through the day making for a homely and peaceful atmosphere.
As with many London parks, it is great to escape the city and find nature. This little 1K loop of a park is great for walking or attending the local parkrun Saturdays at 09:00. The children's playground is quite expansive and multi-dimensional. The surrounding area is clean and a bit posh, so you dont need to worry about personal safety. It is very close to the Highbury and Islington tube stop, making it ideal for visiting.
Nice park. Good spots to sit down,or stand up
This was last December One Sunday evening 8 PM or something A few snowflakes Then more A lot more Turning a green park Into a snowy landscape Late night stroll Quite a few other people Very peaceful Dare I say Magical
Very lucky to have this as my local park. It is a great place for a run or to walk the dog and meet other dogs/owners. Great to sit down for a picnic with friends or family too.
It was in the early morning that i have been walking up from highbury and islington till Roland way by the park of higbury fields.... all was quite and peacefull... the silence was broken from the steps of many riders or from couple of gentle friends of their nice dogs.... i have been stopping myself sitting on a bench beside the one which has got clearly the memory of someone that used to sit there.... two branch of flowers and couple of little candles on it let me think a moment to owr loved mayesty Queen Elizabeth II .... 8 september 2022 ... end of games.... no more time.... sad.... sadness keep me sometimes from getting out completely.... but now im homeless... no where to close myself in.... and i feel more than never.... love and peace.....
I must say, a lovely gem slightly hidden from the main street of Highbury. The playground has a relatively big sandpit, a splash area and a section for older kids to play. The rest of the field is well kept. Excellent place to gather for a picnic. Playground: Good mix for older kids and toddlers to use. Restrooms: Just one toilet available at the playground which could mean the line up can take a while.
