After staying at many different hotels in Scarborough with prices up to £120 per night I would suggest the Clifton is very good value for money. Very warm welcoming place. Good dinning room and massive bar lounge area large room with sea view plenty hot water in bathroom. Staff warm and nice to deal with even our little dog was accepted well. Bedroom furniture all matching very clean and quiet night didn't here other guests. We would recommend trying a few nights here amazing views of the bay. 5 stars well done. We will be back to sea you again.

On the 23rd of Dec we booked into the Hotel Clifton in Scarborough. We were greeted by the hotel manager and staff handed out bucks fizz and boxes of biscuits as gifts. We were then shown to our rooms. We were helped without luggage which was a nice gesture. Our room was a twin on the ground floor which was a bit on the small size but everything nice and clean. The maid attended every day except Christmas day, to clean the bathroom and toilet and bedroom was tidied. The decorations were outstanding the hotel beautifully adorned. Entertainment every night and drinks from 4 up to 7pm were happy hour rates. Christmas dinner was self service and excellent with plenty to choose from.

My wife and I stayed at the Clifton Hotel early March 2018 for one night. We stay in Scarborough every year at this time (23 years since our first date in Scarborough). This is the first time we stayed at the Clifton and will probably be the last. The location of the hotel is fantastic for us. Great views and a short walk to the Old Scalby Mills pub and even shorter to Blue Crush. Although the sea view from our room would have been spectacular, the windows were so dirty it wasn't great. There was a big gap in one of the windows frames which meant a gale came through the gap, making the room really cold. (See picture). We spent the time in room wrapped in blankets to keep warm. The window frames were filthy plus the carpet around the window (see picture). The staff were friendly and helpful. The lift was scary. Shampoo and shower gel dispenser was empty. Problems with the bathroom lock. Only one set of towels (quickly sorted). The breakfast was self service and although not great was okay.

The hotel is nice and relaxed. I had a room that had a sea view which was very relaxing and just very nice really. My daughter had her own room next door to me which the hotel made sure they did as I had requested when I booked online. It just is relaxing and in a quiet area of scarborough near the peasome park around the corner. Plenty of buses running along the sea front. Was near to scarborough castle which we visited. Worth the visit.

After a last minute rush we found this place. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Hotel a little run down but still clean and great for a place to get your head down. Amazing views of the sea! Parking is an issue if staying longer than one night due to on road and permit parking. Comfortable beds, unfortunately had some very nosiey neighbors on my floor but soon went to sleep. Do not use the lift if clostrophobic! Would recommend staying here again
