Gifted with a voucher via Virgin Experience and took a friend for afternoon tea. Easier to phone the venue to arrange a chosen date rather than book online, as the room has very limited availability for afternoon tea days. It is often booked by external companies for conferences etc as explained to me by the receptionist on phoning to book a date. Welcomed on arrival, service from staff could not be faulted. Had Deluxe afternoon tea, food and drinks were all very fresh and tasty. Due to popularity the venue was full but still very pleasant. My friend had been once before approx 14 years ago and showed me a photograph from that day... Same decor and curtains, although fresh carpets! All in all no complaints, very good service, food in a relaxing setting. Will go again. Perhaps fresh decor should be considered to bring the room a little more up to date, as feels like stepping back into the 1980s....
We stayed here last night for the Elton John party night. Rooms- comfy- clean and spacious. Good shower in the bathroom. The food was excellent served hot and to perfection. A three course meal and coffee, mince pie plus the entertainment for only £45. The staff go above and beyond. Damien especially was a treasure. Would highly recommend a visit. Breakfast cooked to order. The property itself is beautiful just like downtown abbey. This is a ideal location for a party or a wedding. I was impressed with the service considering the amount of people they was catering for. I would also like to say the vegetarian option was fantastic obviously a high class chef. Thankyou to all the team.
From the moment we arrived we were made incredibly welcome. We had our two dogs with us and they too were made feel welcome. Paul, Sam and Molly could not do enough for us. We were treated like royalty, they prepared a private lounge for us including private dining so that our dogs were relaxed and able to stay with us throughout our full experience of this beautiful hotel. The food was also amazing and served with a smile. Breakfast was very exciting for our dogs as they were served sausage just for them. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this welcoming, spotless, warm and exceptional service. Paul, Sam and Molly should be recognised for their service and we hope they are on duty when we next visit. Thank you.
Absolute luxury. Should be 4 star. The staff weren't in my face. I was treated with respect during my 4 night stay. Breakfast was consistently delightful. A clean hotel. Beautiful bathroom. A new favourite place!! Thank you.
We booked for 2 nights over new year, checked in no problem, came down for lunch to be told sorry the hotel closes new years day after breakfast but as a good will gesture we wouldn't be charged for the second night. Made to feel like it was our mistake even though we booked direct with the hotel Food was a bit disappointing as not much choice for breakfast and the cooked option was on the cool side.
I stayed here one night while visiting the area, the staff are nice, and I love that the site has a lovely park nearby. You can also go for walks within the grounds of the lodge. The hotel gives an old Victorian feel which was exactly what I wanted, and I love that the room had a bath. It also seems like a popular place for tea for the locals.
Well what can I say? This venue is absolutely amazing. Just recently we held our wedding here, and we couldn't have been happier. From the welcome consultation to the wedding day itself and the aftercare the following day, Jenny and her team took care of every little detail to make our day perfect. The hotel itself is very clean and meets the standard you would expect. The bedroom suite we were given was highly impressive, with a large four poster bed and traditional furniture. Our room had a beautiful view of the bandstand and lawn. Our wedding was held in the main Jubilee room, which was immaculate and very spacious. There was a red carpet welcoming us, which was a nice touch for a wedding weather permitting. Farington had delicious food that was presented beautifully. There was nothing better than the vegetable soup they served. I highly recommend it. All in all, a really nice place to stay and have an event. It wasn't possible to make the day as special as it was without the team's dedication and hard work. There is no hesitation in recommending Farington Lodge Hotel to anyone. Everything was perfect.
Came here for a wedding and it turns out the hotel adds gratuity onto EVERY drinks order. They don't like to tell you about it and are very good at not asking if you want a receipt ... Where the gratuity is stated. When I enquired about this the person behind the bar stated "that there are signs but nobody reads them". In other words your fault for not reading the signs. You can put up a sign saying anything you like, but people are not expecting to give a tip every time they use the card machine. Curiously they only accept card ... Presumably so they can sneak the gratuity on. I wanted my money back but was told out I'd have to fill out a form! I have never felt so robbed, everyone that found out at the wedding was disgusting. Farington Lodge have stolen a significant amount of money via a technicality nobody expects to have to look out for. No defense for this.
Could do with a revamp, the location and food are OK but decor and rooms are a bit tired. A shame as its a great old buildingRooms: 2/5
Went to a weeding on Saturday. Brilliant day from start to finish . Food and drink was very good . All staff were very polite and efficient. Would definitely recommend this as a wedding venue.Rooms: 5/5
