The best steak restaurant in Essex! The food is absolutely delicious and it is obvious that the chefs have an in-depth knowledge of and passion for their craft. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in regards to recommendations etc. There is pay and display parking close by. If you are their friend on Facebook you are able to see all the different discounts that they do, which is helpful as it can be pricey.

The burgers are excellent! But if you like spicy hot, and order chillies, you will get tiny peppers that are absolutely everything else but hot. Bring your own chillies!

We had high hops for this place but it was a major disappointment. We found the service ok but food wasn’t. My steak was over cooked and was burnt on the outside. We didn’t stay for dessert. We won’t return. If food was good would be happy to pay the price but very expensive for the quality we got

When they get it right. It’s great. But unfortunately a few times I’ve left feeling a little disappointed. Usually the grievance is service related. Be it slow, or food doesn’t come out at the same time. Can be hit or miss. But it is really good when they are on the ball. Cocktail bar is well worth a visit as well

Came here last night for a meal with my husband as people had recommended it to us. We have been to Miller and Carter a few times and love it there and we were told it was just as good if not better. We were really disappointed. The steaks were overcooked, the chips looked like they were thrown out from the local chip shop (half of them were black) the halloumi was also burnt and the food was generally bland. I didn't want to complain too much as my husband HATES complaining in restaurants and as he'd taken me out for a treat I felt bad to make a fuss. Definitely would not recommend. Was so expensive too! We did mention to the waiter as he questioned why we were leaving so quickly without even looking at the deserts. Felt ripped off in all honesty. £88 for 2 burnt steaks, one portion of chips, halloumi and some mushrooms and a drink each! Wouldn't mind paying that if it was worth it but it definitely wasn't.
