We visited on a Tuesday evening at 6.30pm. As it was the school holidays restaurant was full of families at this time of day. Highlight was the lady who served us who was super helpful. We went here with another couple and it was great we weren’t rushed and spent about 2.5hrs here. We had a couple of starts garlic dough balls and garlic bread with mozzarella and then 3 Pizzas Margherita Romana, and Diavolo Romana and a Niçoise salad. I didn’t realise you can essentially have any flavour pizza topping on any base even if it isn’t listed on the menu. For dessert a couple of us shared a Triple Salted Caramel Cheesecake which is served with gelato and toasted popcorn. Overall Summary - pizzas were good – toppings were perfect balanced but the base of my Margherita Romana was slightly over-cooked and too crispy/black in a few places. Best thing about Pizza Express is their pizzas and the dessert was ok but not great ie popcorn a bit soggy.
My first Pizza turned up with the wrong toppings, so I asked for it to be remade. Then the one that was remade had no cheese, barely any toppings, and was burnt. Ended up eating nothing for dinner and leaving hungry, as couldn’t be bothered to order another pizza again! Manager said sorry, but I think it’s not her fault, it’s pizza express not hiring competent and well paid Chefs.
We came on Saturday evening for a meal with our family, greeted very well and the service was excellent. My wife has gluten/wheat intolerances but the manager, was very accommodating to ensure I could enjoy my meal without feeling deprived! Food was delicious! We will definitely be returning!
What a brilliant venue. I hired the upstairs of Pizza Express for a book launch yesterday evening - the service and staff were incredible. It was so well organised - they even learnt the names of the people in attendance there was over 40 of us. The whole evening went so well due to their efficiency, helpfulness and attentiveness. Daniel, the manager, was brilliant and I can't recommend it enough. The food was awesome too : Thank you so much.
We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant, the waitress I do not know her name, was very friendly, gave us great recommendations, and looked after us well. The food was very tasty and was served quickly. We will be coming back soon

Overall really friendly staff and very fast. Our server was called agnieszka and she had such a positive energy which made the experience so much better!
Absolutely disgusting. Just had it delivered after a long journey getting home. It was. Burnt , cold and the mushrooms not cooked and looked disgusting . I am going to dominoes now as ne et had an experience like this from Them. This pizza express Moulsham street and I live not far from them. Awful food, wouldn’t give it to my dog .
Visited Pizza Express in Chelmsford recently and had a great experience. Delicious pizzas and nice atmosphere in there. We will definitely pop back in next time we're around
Mid week, lunchtime visit. The restaurant was quiet so service was quick. Food was superb I've had several Calzones in Italy over the years and this was up there with them.
