Hired a van for odd days over 3 weeks. Staff good and vans only slightly marked. Photographed each before driving. All performed fine. Lad bought van out with 7 miles on fuel left indicator. Says 'is that okay?' I said 'no it's NOT" so he put a gallon in . Who leaves a diesel with so little fuel? Apart from that the high mileage vans were fine. But no better on fuel than mine.
These guys are great! They helped me out with a rental very short notice and didn't charge me an arm and a led. Polite, friendly service, well maintained cars and overall efficiency without any fuss!
Terrible company. I got a ULEZ fine and they charge you £50 to administer the fine. £50!!! Absolute joke, do not use. Vans are smashed up wrecks, the one I had didn't even have a petrol cap so dangerous. AVOID
I’ve been renting from Choice for the better part of twenty years. The staff have always been polite and the vans mostly ok/good. They’re cheap and you get what you pay for. Any problems have been dealt with efficiently and politely. I’ve encountered rude and demanding customers when I’ve been waiting to collect and the staff have remained courteous. I’d suggest to customers that they read the terms and conditions before yelling at people. I think Choice are the best option around and I’ll continue to use them.
I've rented cars from Choices on several occasions and would highly recommend them. The booking & pick up process is very efficient, as is their customer service. Good value for money compared to the bigger car hire companies.
Great van. I paid £4 extra to hire a newer van £67 for a days hire and got a brand new Transit with ~500 miles on the clock. Very clean & performed perfectly. The pick up process was a bit laboured with lots of paperwork and waiting around but as others have mentioned this is an old fashioned hire car business and I have no complaints with the price or service. Being able to drop off out of hours and use the key box is a big plus. You can't do that with Enterprise! I have docked one star from the review as the guy behind the check in desk was monosyllabic, sullen and unfriendly. He wasn't rude or anything just not friendly or warm or making any effort to make you feel welcomed. Will happily use Choice again.
Hired van for the day, really easy and quick service. To note there is very little parking at the site so don't try and leave your car there while using the vans.
Very mixed in the whole experience really.. Staff friendly but found the reception processing to be somewhat painful as had a call to ask if we were coming for the van, but arrived to then be delayed about.half an hour before could actually take the van away. Signed as it was alleged to have 1/8 tank of fuel but turned out to be completely empty so had to travel to nearest station delaying.us further.... Very mixed to be honest as the van was new and nice but the service wasn't the greatest...
I don't know if this place is under new management as I've used them in the past but I found them to be unprofessional, inefficient, unreliable and their customer service department was aggressive and rude. They're not even the cheapest in town. AVOID.
I was racially profiled, judged worthy of a lesson and denied a vehicle I had already paid for. That all happened the moment my Estonian driving licence made an appearance and the staff didn't seem to think its real. "Never seen one of these," the bearded man marked, eyeing me suspiciously. And from that moment everything changed. The mood in the small office was icey. I needed a van. Booked one for 3 days, 1 for moving some furniture and two for a roadtrip. Paid for it in advance. After my 'suspicious' passport changed the climate, the bearded man didn't stop pestering me about the destination of my roadtrip. "Sussex" wasn't good enough. Neither was "East-Sussex". I said I don't know England well enough to name a particular city - after all the idea of the roadtrip was to hit the open road, see where the B-roads take me. The man kept insisting I make up a place. Or just write 'Brighton' as the destination. I asked if I'm legally bound to Brighton, he said yes. Finally I offered the address of the place I meant to move furniture to. But the man said its too late. I had already whitheld information. They could give me thee van - the one I had come to collect - tomorrow. But not today for 'I had whitheld information'. I don't know, maybe this one day delay served some other purpose, but I felt it was meant as a lesson in humility. I tried explaining that I have everything riding on getting the van today. Its the first link in the chain that involves other people, movers, builders, etc, but the reply was - and I'm parafrasing - 'you should have thought about it before whitholding information', 'you did this to yourself'. At this point there were 3 people behind the counter, talking over each other. I felt powerless and decided to accept the injustice. The cherry on top of the cake came from the realisation that the money they had already charged me - the money I need to book another van with a different company - will not be returned to my account for few days, making it impossible for move, roadtrip or do much anything at this point. Very very sad situation. I've been renting vehicles frequently from Choice's other branches in Brighton and Hove since 2018 and had nothing but stellar experiences. But after this all I can say is stay away from this branch. They really don't like foreigners there :
