First time visit to Chez Fred. Service was impeccable. Food was excellent. Clean and spacious dining. Staff were extremely polite and attentive. Fish was cooked perfectly with thin crisp batter. Chips were proper ones too. Started off with a fresh bread roll and butter. And the mains served with mushy peas and a pot of tea.nFree local residential parking limited to an hour - just about enough time with a few minutes on the wrong side.
A great fish and chips place to visit when in Bournemouth. Probably so much better than the ones in the city centre/pier. The seating area and the service were brilliant. It gets busy so, maybe book a table in advance if that's possible. The fish is fresh and cooked perfectly. You can ask for extra chips, free of charge. The sauces were also tasty. Highly recommended!nThere is also a takeaway option.
Having moved recently from London we thought we would give Chez Fred a try on a neighbour recommendation.nWhat a excellent decision. We dined in and opted for the Lunchtime Special which at £12.95 was superb value when you get Cod- unlimited chips- mushy peas-bread roll-sauces-unlimited tea/coffee&water.nThe service is great and the food cooked to perfection and also the decor and cleanliness is amazing.nCould easily be a regular go to place but the waistline would be expanding rapidly.
A traditional fish and chips restaurant in Bournemouth. The staff are superb and cheerful attending to customers with a high attention to detail. Food is freshly cooked to order, and the batter is light. The waitress said my cod was being cooked again because the tail was broken off, demonstrating quality and care to detail to which I said don't worry so not only did my original cod arrive but also to my surprise another as well! The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, setting itself apart from other fish and chip shops. A special thank you to Vicky, and Melissa who looked after us. You can't reserve tables, so I would advise arriving early in the evening. Otherwise, expect up to 1 hours wait. On street parking only. Certainly one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the UK.
Went for the lunchtime deal and it was absolutely delicious.nWe were seated straight away by the friendly team , service was quick and efficient.nThe food was fresh , hot , tasty and plenty of it.nWould certainly visit again.
