Lovely place to go with family and kids. Plenty to see, so many animals, amazing experience and one of the biggest zoo I've ever been. You need a full day from 10 am to 6 pm if you wish to see all/ have a break to eat and drink/ enjoy everything around. Highly recommended place to go.
Enjoyed every minute of our trip animals looked well and have lovely enclosures .I like the idea of the indoor enclosures have glass windows so if it's raining and they go inside you can still see them .plenty toilets and eating areasVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Absolutely an amazing day. The whole family enjoyed it. So we'll set out, great sign posting. Beautiful well cared for animals with just enough information on each posted. We especially enjoyed the butterfly house. We spent the full day there 10am-6pm & got to see everything once we would have loved extra time to revisit specific areas, so will definitely be returning soon. The staff were helpful & friendly. All areas were immaculate. There were plenty places to eat & the food was exceptional. Could not have asked for a better day.
Great day out tickets are cheaper if bought online before you go. Plenty of free parking all exhibits were clean and well maintained the bat cave and butterflies are worth a visit, struggled with the maps so didnt manage to see everythingVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Long day...7 hours to walk round everywhere including jungle boat ride and lunch break. Very clean and animals well cared for. Big leafy enclosures mean you don't always get close up to see animals clearly. Efficient car park organisation.
Wonderful place great for families or just for a nice solo day out, lots of places to sit and watch the animals. There's a lazy boat ride for those who want to sit back and relax as looking at the animals I highly recommend the lemon sorbet and coconut ice available on the island !!
What a lovely day out! Can't believe we've never been before. Busy due to bank holiday weekend but that was expected. Nice small cafes dotted around.. There's ample parking but as we were leaving, there was a long queue of cars waiting for parking, so would recommend coming early. The photo experience was also great. Got digital ones taken at various spots. Check the map to see where you can take them.
I love Chester zoo but unfortunately my visit in July was tainted by bad service from your Food and Beverages manager. We had food and drinks at a restaurant at the entrance but our teas took forever that we’d finished eating and had to go find them ourselves. Later I was told this was my fault by this manager because I’d ordered it to the wrong restaurant. - however our food came that was ordered on the same order? I found it extremely rude that I was blamed when it was clearly their own incompetence. Not only that but I must’ve wasted around half an hour of my time at the zoo waiting for him to fix the card machine that I purchased 2 refillable cups from. I asked to save time if one of my party could wait with them whilst I got the drink cups filled and was refused so not only did I have to wait 30 minutes to buy the cups I then had to go and queue afterward to fill them up. The card machine wouldn’t work, then after that the receipt printer wouldn’t work which I needed to prove I’d purchased the cups on the day. This man was rude, offered no apologies or even eye-contact and was just all round a discredit to the zoo. Had he been my staff, he would no longer be in a management role. Despite my interaction with this rude “manager”, Chester zoo is a great day out. I’ll just bring my own food next time.
The zoo is really nice and the animals look content and seem well looked after. We enjoyed ourselves, but the afterglow part we went for is just a late opening. There was nothing really that set it apart as a special event, just a normal day at the zoo. Worth it for the cheaper tickets, I suppose, but they could just advertise it as such or actually make an effort to make it have a different feel to it.
Fab, fab, fab... Was really busy but went for the Afterglow even so the zoo quietened down. Lovely to see the animals but there was also live performances to watch. It helped that the sun was shining
