Nice sized station with all the necessary facilities for travel. Walkable distance into town centre. Nice Victorian style architecture. Regular train's to most town's and city's in region and beyond. Not friendly but helpful staff. Overall i like the staton.
Roman style viaduct columns add a lot of character to this station - built with the reddish brown bricks that Chester is known for. I connected train here to Llandudno Wales & vice versa to Euston. As an overseas visitor, the dual language system here was iconic. Felt Iike you were heading to another Euro nation, not just crossing a state border... Easy to change trains with lifts & the Cafe cum waiting room on Platform 4 looked good. Station was clean on the two occasions I was connecting late Sep & early Oct recently. Thankfully I did not have to use the toilets!
A lovely stationnA 6 mins bus ride away from the city centre or a 15 - 20 mins walk away.nTrains depart to Liverpool, Manchester,The Midlands, and London Euston.nThere's a newsagent stand plus two places to buy hot/cold drinks. Toliets were not great but remember a lot of people use them.nStaff were very friendly and helpful.
Christmas market is pretty rubish, very few stalls, more food/drink than craft items. Cathedral is beautiful but charging £4.50pp during December, its normally free entrance.
Very nice building design, audible automatic announcements which are always really useful, Transport for Wales run the station well, and I've mostly had a great experience at the station.
