Prices are slightly cheaper than other nearby car parks, presumably as it’s at the bottom of the High Street, although only a few minutes walk away - it’s a nice walk too.nnThe usual tight turning angles on the ramps up and down, with parking spaces that feel cramped, but that’s typical of the vast majority of multi-storey car parks. It was busy, but there were plenty of spaces on the higher tiers.nnSupports RingGo so payment was simple.nnBehind the car park which is one of the pedestrian exit points is the Cheshill tunnel, which used to have a railway running through it. You can peek through a hole in the gate and see the tunnel curving off into the distance, which was an interesting and unexpected deviation when returning to my car :
Fre parking on a bank holiday Monday!!!nAnd a short walk to the main shopping street of Winchester.nLooks like you need the RingGo app to pay normally
Used this car park when I visited the Christmas Market, it's a big multi-storey but it gets full very quickly at this time of year. Only found a suitable space on the top floor open air and it was only 10:25. If you have a large car the ramps can be a bit of a squeeze and the spaces are not very wide either. Two of the lifts were not working...The plus side is it's dirt cheap, less than £3 for four hours no change given if paying by cash compared to some rip off councils it's a goid deal. It's only a short walk to the high street and cathedral.
Not a lot to say really. I could park, it's covered, doesn't smell of urine and at 18:30 in the evening it wasn't ridiculously expensive.nnSat Nav got a bit confused getting me there asking me to do a U-turn at a nearby roundabout instead of turning right into it. But that's not really the carpark's fault
Good multistorey car park well situated for the city centre. Usually has spaces. Feels a bit gloomy inside.
