I used to love going in and drinking tea with my mum/buying some to take home and since their cafe closed I decided to order my favourites from their online shop. Unfortunately it has been 4 weeks and I haven't recieved my tea or a refund, they're not answering my emails, facebook messages or request forms on their website, when I called after stating my name I didnt even get to finish the sentence and the person on the phone hung up on me. I believe the online distributor is separate to the couple that ran the cafe. It's very unfortunate but I wouldnt recommend anyone purchase online. I hope at some point they'll be able to reopen or change their distribution to be more reliable.
Ordered online over the bank holiday but I still have not received my order. The number on the listing is to their distribution centre in Minworth and they are just the distributors, can't help with customer issues. Emails keep bouncing back as undelivered. Trying to get to the store but not open on weekends makes it tough to get over there while working. Will be chasing a refund with the bank if still undelivered by the end of the week.
Worst experience I have ever had buying online! Purchased some loose teas and paid for next day delivery. 1 week later and still not had my delivery. Was finally advised after phoning 4 times, they had had some issues and was told I would get a refund. Did get sent 3 samples as an appology but now almost a month later and still no refund. Phone number doesnt even go through to them its for a distribution company.
Independent specialist tea shop with a large range of teas and an innovative way of customers being able to smell the teas on offer. Brilliant booklet of all the available teas listing their ingredients and benefits, which is a great idea and more tea shops should adopt to aid customers. Not a huge range of tea making equipment to buy, but what was there looked good. Staff were very friendly. Would have completely missed this place had it not been for the Independent Birmingham website. Impressed the wife by finding a high quality tea shop so close to her work
This was my second visit here and again it was another pleasant experience. We were treated well by the staff/owners of the business. I treated my Mum to one of the wellness teas and we both really enjoyed it and definitely felt relaxed as we decided to come here and unwind after a busy day around the city centre. There was serenity within this setting, the tea was of a high standard and I would definitely keep coming here again. I hope there will be more options for the wellness tea as this is what interests me most and I am happy to support a local independent business such as this one!
Fabulous little shop. Julie & her mum are fantastic hosts. Although it's not something they normally do, they organised a tea tasting session for us. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a tremendous couple of hours with them. I would highly recommend this establishment.
Char Wallah is a great little tea shop. They have a good range of teas from different parts of the world. The interior is quite modern, there's a few tables to sit and have an interesting world tea and the walls are filled with many different teas and tea related products. Great place to find gifts for tea lovers. Good location for tea with friends, or a great location for a date.
Fantastic little find. Excellent range of teas, really knowledgeable staff members. The perfect place to provide a refreshing warm beverage that is an alternate to the ubiquitous 'coffee shop'.
Char and Scones done right and proper. Calm intimate venue to take a well earned 5 mins break from the hub bub of the city delightful charming and friendly.
Ordered online and arrived the next day. Excellent service and easy to use website. I ordered Earl Grey Blueflower and I wish I ordered more!
